Deciding on baby shower decorations can be a lot of fun. What you buy may depend on whether the hopeful mother knows the sex of her unborn baby or not. Some moms want to know right away, while others like to wait for a surprise. Whether the mom knows about the sex of the baby or not will not only determine the type of baby shower decorations you buy, it will also determine the gift and favors you buy as well.

When the mom knows if she is having a boy or a girl, you can buy baby shower decorations in the traditional colors. Most people buy blue for boys and pink for girls, but you don’t have to do this if you don’t want to. When my sister in law was getting ready to go to her baby shower, I remember her stating that even though she was having a girl, she hoped there wouldn’t be a lot of pink. She really didn’t like the color. So even if the mom knows what she’s having, make sure you aren’t using a color
she hates.

You don’t have to go for a certain color when buying baby shower decorations. You can go with a theme instead. Some go with storks, or heart, and others go for flowers, or smilie faces. It’s up to you, and you know the mom to best, so keep her tastes in mind. Besides, if the mom doesn’t know the sex of her baby yet, you can’t really go with blue or pink anyway. You can use both, but that is up to you.

You can search online for a great selection of baby shower decorations. Some are personalized, which can be a great touch. Don’t forget to get the games and other items you need while shopping. Look for discounts, and don’t forget to search through eBay for some great deals. You may even find ideas that you have not thought of by searching the Internet. You never know what you are going to find until you look.
