At the time of dealing with plants it is very important to know which are the plants that suit your surroundings and your landscape the best or what is the exact season for planting those and how to care for their nourishment etc. Otherwise your investment will be a futile one.

You can think planting herbs for it is undoubtedly good for landscaping. Moreover herbs can be a help in your kitchen as well as its practical use you can never deny.

Another suggestion is that you should not so much about the decorative appeal of the plants. The beautiful flowers with their color with their size may attract you but please don’t be swayed.

They may not be suitable for your area. So try to choose the right sort of plants that may flourish and bring the expected result.

While you are to select plants be very careful about the factors mentioned below:

Site and soil conditions: You have to be aware about the basic conditions that a plant needs to thrive. It should be exposed to light and air. It should have a proper soil conditions. Check all these important factors beforehand or your planting may not be up to your expectation.

Size and type selection: If you are going to choose plant for its size and type be very careful while planting or handling them for they need a proper care. Decorative plants are of three types:
ball and burlap (B+B), bare root and container grown.

While you are handling the container grown plants or ball and burlap plants deal carefully with them. If you are to remove the pot, leave soil around the root ball as much as feasible and then only remove the pot totally. In case of the burlap it can be partly removed. Smaller size bare root plants should be planted in spring soon after it is brought.

Climate considerations: It is very important factor for a plant can thrive only if the temperature winds etc are all proper. So to select only that sort of plants for your landscape that suits your climate most.

Prevent pests: If you are aware of the pests that can pose a threat to your plants, select only the plants that have the resistance against those pests.

Start healthy: Do not be a fool and buy a damaged plant. Go and buy from the nursery.

A lump sum money is to be invested for your landscaping. So be very careful about the proper choice of plants.
