There is a lot to do when travelling around Malaga Spain. The city is located on the Costa del Sol, near the Mediterranean Sea. The weather follows a typical Mediterranean climate. The summers are hot and the winters are moderate with very mild temperatures. Most people travel to this area in the summer, but the climate is nice all year.

As in most cities on this coast, summer is the busiest time for tourists. Reserve your hotel, flight and car rental well in advance to get the best deal and availability. You can rent a car at the airport or in the city. Most car hire companies will pick you up at the airport and take you back at the end of your trip. Don’t wait until you arrive to rent a car in summer. You may find there aren’t any available in the busier times.

Things to do When Traveling Around Malaga Spain

The Citadel, or Alcazabo, is the largest fortress in Andalucia. The citadel was built between the eighth and eleventh centuries. It is located next to the Castle of Gibralfaro. There are two museums located on the site of the citadel, one is an archaeological museum. If you love history, make sure to visit this attraction.

As in many Spanish cities, there is a castle in Malaga. The Castle of Gibralfaro was built in the fourteenth century. The castle is open for tour and is a great place to experience the history of the area. There is a beautiful view of the city and port from the castle. The castle is located near the Citadel.

Tivoli Amusement Park is the only amusement park of its kind on the Costa del Sol. This attraction is very popular with families visiting the area. The park has rides for kids of all ages and adults. In addition, there are daily shows at the park. There are botanical gardens to tour where you can enjoy a variety of flora and fauna.

There is a great market located in the old part of town. The market has fresh fish and seafood, as well as flowers and fresh vegetables. After shopping, enjoy getting something to eat. There are bars and restaurants near the market area. The bars and restaurants along the harbour area are a great place to enjoy some night life when spending time in Malaga.

Traveling Around Malaga Spain: Museums and Churches

The Cathedral of Malaga is a landmark in the area. Construction on the cathedral was started in 1528 and was stopped and started several times over the next two hundred years. Construction came to a permanent halt in 1783, due to lack of money. One tower is still unfinished today. Because construction was interrupted so many times, several styles of architecture can be seen in the design.

Pablo Picasso is the city’s most famous resident. The artist was born here and the home of his birth is a historic monument. The Picasso Foundation is located inside the home. A museum dedicated to Picasso and his works is located near his birth place. The art work here shows the progression of his work from the early days on. In addition, several smaller galleries have Picasso paintings on display.

There are two other museums in Malaga. The Archaeological museum contains a display of Gothic and Greek art. Another attraction at this site is the ruins of an Ancient Roman theatre. This theatre dates from the first century. The Museo de la Ceramica is dedicated mostly to pottery. You will see ceramic works of art from various time periods.
