Savannah is called Georgia's “First City” and finding an apartment here to call home will lead you through some of the most beautiful and most historic areas in the South. Finding an apartment here is not as expensive as in New York or Seattle; here a one bedroom apartment rental can be found for $570 as compared to the $1200 you would pay in New York or the $750 for the same size apartment in Seattle.

There are many apartments available in Savannah’s 2.5-square-mile Historic Landmark District that features an active commercial district with some very well kept residential areas. In addition, there are housing developments that are converting space above retail stores into apartments and lofts.

On Savannah’s Southside, there are several apartment communities; Windsor Arms, Timberland and Edgewater Trace, are located in the commercial heart of Savannah. This area features two major shopping areas and many theatres, restaurants and neighborhood convenience stores to make your apartment living comfortable.

On the Eastside of Savannah, you will find the apartment community of Alhambra, and for students attending historic Savannah State University, an apartment in this area is ideal. You will find convenient shopping, dining and entertainment and easy access to downtown and the Southside.

The apartment communities of Wyndmere, Kessler Point and the Arbors, are located in the Westside district. If you want an apartment that is in an area that is quiet but convenient to downtown, this area is perfect. Many of the employees of Gulfstream Aerospace, the Georgia Ports Authority, JC Bamford and International Paper live here.

Apartments in this area are also favored by business people who much travel frequently because of it proximity to Savannah International Airport. If you work for any of the major industries in Savannah, locating an apartment in the West Chatham will mean an easy commute for you.

Savannah is a city that is experiencing a tremendous amount of growth and relocation to the area is at an all time high. In addition to apartment communities, there are corporate apartments that are perfect for making the transition to living in Savannah. If you are relocating to the area at the request of your employer, it is a good idea to find out if they have a corporate relocation agreement with one of the many apartment developments that cater to the needs of company employees.

If you have plans to buy your own home, you might find that it is easier than you think with the rent to own option that is available at many locations around Savannah Georgia. When you rent an apartment under this type of agreement, a certain amount of your rental fee is applied to the total value of the property, which saves you a lot of money that would have to be paid in a traditional home purchase.

The selections of apartments you will find in Savannah include condos, high rise, low rise, lofts and townhouses. will make it easy for you to find an apartment and get settled into your new home.
