Malaga real estate has increased in popularity in recent years. People from all over Northern Europe have been purchasing properties here. The discount airlines operating at the Alicante airport have made it easier and cheaper to visit frequently.

Malaga Real Estate Market

The demand for real estate in Malaga, Spain has increased in recent years. This is due to several factors. The increased interest in the area among foreign buyers is one factor that has caused the increasing demand. A variety of people from all over Northern Europe are purchasing property in this area.

Many of these buyers are purchasing property as a second home or an investment. Those choosing to invest in property may use it for part of the year. They tend to rent out the property at other times of the year. This allows them to have some income toward the cost of the property. Rentals are most in demand in the summer months. There is some demand in the winter months, as golf vacations on the Costa del Sol become more popular.

Other people purchase property with the intention to relocate. There are many foreign residents who call this city home. Malaga is popular both for the beautiful weather and the fact that the city has maintained the feel of an older Spanish village. It is not just a tourist destination, but a great place to live as well.

Malaga has a good mixture of the old and new. There are newer apartment buildings as well as traditional country homes and older villas. The country homes are generally located inland. These have the added benefit of more land. Many have mature fruit trees on the property.

Inland properties are about 30% less expensive than properties located on the coastal areas. You can get a larger home for the same money or save a significant amount on a smaller place. Most of the inland areas are still close enough to visit the coast and enjoy the beaches, while living in a quieter area.

Inland properties can still be rented to tourists. These are popular for people wanting to enjoy a quieter vacation spot and eco tourists who want to enjoy nature. Many people rent these properties for longer terms, rather than weekly rentals.

Many of the properties in the city are apartments. There have been many new buildings constructed in the past decade. Apartments are popular for vacation rentals. Others like them because there is less maintenance needed. Some places offer a variety of amenities and services. These include community pools, restaurants and mini markets.

Finding Malaga Real Estate

The first step in finding real estate in Malaga is to decide what type of property you want to purchase. Do you want an apartment in the center of town? Do you prefer a small villa or home in the inland area? The best way to decide is to visit the area several times. Rent properties both in the coastal and inland areas to decide which you prefer.

Once you know where you want to live, you can start searching for properties. The internet is a good place to begin your search. You can browse listings from the comfort of your home. Read descriptions, view pictures and get a feel for the prices in the areas you want to buy. Set a budget for your purchase and look at properties in that price range.

Once you have an idea of the properties you want to see, you are ready for a trip to Malaga. Make several trips to view a variety of properties. Contact a reputable real estate agent to show you some properties. Don’t jump on the first place you see. This is a big purchase, so take your time to make the best choice possible.

When you have found a property, hire an attorney to help you with the necessary paperwork. A bilingual attorney is important, if you don’t speak Spanish. He can translate the information for you and be sure you understand the contract and mortgage information. You want someone to look out for your best interests. Look for an attorney who is experienced in real estate law.

If you are planning to spend much time in Spain, you will want to learn the language. You can learn Spanish online or in a classroom. Online courses have the benefit of allowing you to study in the privacy of your own home. The classroom experience has the benefit of allowing you to interact with others to practice your newly acquired language skills.
