Many rewards cards are issued by credit card companies in order to get more customers. All of them feature either cash back or rewards programs and usually require good credit history.

With a rewards card, you can earn extra points or money during your purchases. Just use your rewards card when you shop, and you can take part in a rewards program. Try to use your card for as much of your normal spending as possible.

Several rewards are available depending on your lifestyle. You can collect points for free travels, book, music, movie, or any other gift certificates from leading merchants, etc.

Various types of these cards exists. For those who would like to get rebates on gas can earn on all of their gas purchases made at particular stations.

For those, who travel a lot, travel rewards programs are the best choice. They can take part in frequent flyer programs. Earned miles can be used towards travel on many of the major airlines such as American, Delta, United, Continental, Northwest, USA, etc.

Brand-specific rewards are only useful if you're a loyal user of the brand. For example the Sony Platinum Visa Card is ideal for those who are interested in electronics, music, games, entertainment - in Sony rewards.

The Subaru Platinum MasterCard from Chase is a rewards credit card ideal for those who plan to buy a Subaru vehicle or Subaru products, regular servicing (such as oil changes) at an authorized Subaru dealership.

Rewards cards have typically higher interest rates than other cards. It's not a good deal to use rewards card if you pay too high interest rate. But you can find some cards with absolutely competitive interest rates, too.

Be careful, because there are some drawbacks about these cards. Always read all details, not only the highlighted parts of the text when you read a review of a card. It's not always that easy to get those rewards, there are several restrictions.

These rewards cards usually features a low or 0% introductory APR on purchases and balance transfers for few months and have no annual fee.

Note that the best deals are only valid in the introductory period and make sure that later the conditions will still fit for you.

For those who pay their balances in full within the Grace Period, the card has a low interest rate for purchases and balance transfers.

These cards offer further special benefits and privileges like Lost and Stolen Card Reporting, Emergency Cash and Card Replacement, Auto Rental Insurance, and more.

Though rewards cards may seem a little bit cloudy, the benefits make them more than worthwhile. Maybe the schemes of cash-back programs are often simpler than other types of reward programs and are more calculable.
