There are many things that make up a first impression. But the first thing people key into is your face. If your teeth are yellowed and discolored you run the risk of not making that all-important good first impression.

Can You Really Whiten Your Teeth Using Only Toothpaste?

In general, any toothpaste will work well for you if it contains fluoride. Fluoride actually strengthens teeth and prevents cavities. It is perhaps the most important ingredient in toothpaste

If you were hoping to be able to have whiter teeth just from using a tooth whitening products, One of the most common tooth whitening products on the market today is the tooth whitening toothpaste.

Contrary to what many people think, whitening toothpastes do not increase the whiteness of the underlying tooth. In reality, the most whitening toothpaste can do is remove some of the surface stains that may have gathered from food, or drinks like coffee, so that the underlying whiteness of the tooth becomes more apparent, making your smile shine.

But while effective in removing stains, some brands of whitening toothpastes can destroy tooth enamel in the process. Due to their harsh abrasives may strip tooth enamel, making teeth become sensitive to cold or hot foods and liquids, sweets, and highly salted foods.

Teeth become sensitive when tooth enamel is worn away, exposing the underlying permeable tooth layer, known as dentin. Many toothpastes are too abrasive and actually strip away tooth enamel which never grows back.

To reduce sensitivity, your dentist can prescribe an ultra high fluoride toothpaste, which usually solves your tooth sensitivity problems by helping to plug open dentinal tubules. In fact, the first thing dentists will do for patients suffering from sensitive teeth is to have them switch to a less abrasive toothpaste.

However,The teeth which are yellowish from the birth or having lost their inherent whiteness because of the use of some medicines can’t be saved even with the bleach.
