Here's a money maker secret that works like magic. It may just help drive traffic to your site and send your sales through the roof.

I am talking about writing articles. Writing articles is now considered the premier method of marketing. In fact, articles are so hot, many home business owners consider them their #1 marketing tool.

Here 7 reasons why articles are so effective:

1) Articles are personal. They are a personal communication between you and your prospective buyer. You are writing from you to him or to her. Plus that, you have your readers best interests in mind. The information you give them is meant to help them. Readers can sense that right off the bat. They read on to the very end.

2) Articles show you are an expert. The article you write goes to prove that you have enough experience or skill to be believed. Now here comes the important part - the bio. At the end of the article, include a short bio that tells who you are and why you are an expert. Then, plug your product and provide a link to your website. What could be better than that?

3) Articles are no frills marketing. If you are on a tight budget, as most people are, your costs for distributing an article is anywhere from free to about $10. Do not begrudge paying a bit of money to have a service distribute your articles. A well- regarded distribution service can save you the time and frustration of submitting the articles yourself.

4) Articles bring you incoming links. You know what a hassle it is to go out looking for sites to link to you - especially sites with a high page rank. Your article banishes this onerous task in one fell swoop. The publisher of your article is bound to include the website address you placed in your bio at the end of the article.

5) Articles are an ongoing relationship between you and your future customers. Once your article is distributed, readers will find it weeks, months - even years from now. One person I know continues to get email from prospects who are now reading an article she wrote ten years ago.

6) Readers tend to believe an article more than they do an ad. Advertising experts claim that if you couch your ad under the guise of a news story, readers will accept it as truth. This is one reason why press releases and infomercials are so popular. The same holds true for articles. Even though it is a "no-no" to sell your product in the body of the article itself, you are expected to do so in the bio at the end.

7) Everybody needs your articles. No doubt, you have heard the expression, "content is king." All over the world, people are publishing. There are print publications and online websites, e-zines, and blogs. There are even visual and audio publications. They all need content. Your articles may be translated into German, Farsi or Urdu because readers want to know what you have to say.

Although I refer mostly to online marketing, it is important to publish articles offline as well. Browse through small business magazines and find out their submission policy. Getting just one article in a print magazine could be the money maker you have been waiting for.
