Have you ever thought of how many windows appear in your daily life? It’s a rather amusing thought… and important, as you are about to find out.

Chances are, since you are currently reading this article, you have a personal computer with windows installed. Now Microsoft Windows is terrific but it is not the only window being discussed today.

Suppose you are in a position to photograph. Preparing to take a picture, you are holding the camera in such a way to allow yourself to look through the “little window” to view what the camera will capture in a frame. (By the way, if you have read the article “General Tips for Photographing Scenery”, you are informed how to take a snapshot through a window, getting the best results.) This is similar to looking through a window in your house or apartment, capturing the view through a window.

As you are driving along looking through your car window, imagine the framed, panoramic view. Isn’t it similar to watching a motion picture? (You have probably surmised it doesn’t take much to amuse the author)

The most important window of all is one that everybody has looked through at some point in their life. This is the “window of opportunity”. Visualize, if you will, an event that can change your life…for the better! An opportunity or challenge to enhance your life with a different career, a second job, making money with photography, starting an Internet business, seeking out information on your favorite subject, etc.

How often have we looked through this window and walked away?

Let’s not forget other “windows of opportunity” such as helping the poor, volunteering at a food kitchen, nursing home, your children’s school and other organizations.

Yes, this is one window that shouldn’t be overlooked. A window of opportunity can appear many times in our life and we never look through it. Perhaps for some it only appears once.

Maybe they weren’t paying attention.

Consider anybody who stumbles over an opportunity, gets back on his feet, brushes himself off and continues on his way like nothing ever happened.

He missed the opportunity! He didn’t even see it! The window was right in front of him.

While reading this article, it is assumed your interest, hobby or career is in photography or a related field. If you have read this far you must be a person seeking a window of opportunity. Wonderful!

As you go through life, pay attention and you’ll see the windows of opportunity appear before your eyes. If it reveals itself as a possible, positive change in you life, it should be embraced and pursued.

And as you continue your photographic endeavors, while taking photos of your friends and loved ones, take that window of opportunity and give them a hug as well.
