Copper cookware is among the top choices made by many professional chefs and avid cooking enthusiasts alike. Copper cookware still remains among one of the most popular of all the metal pans that are out there because copper cookware is superior when it comes to conducting heat.

Most copper cookware is lined with stainless steel or tin. This helps keep the pots and pans from getting damaged, and it also prevents the copper from mixing with your food items you are cooking with. To enjoy many years of cooking, it is essential your maintain your cookware correctly

Steps for Maintenance and Cleaning

Copper cookware requires a bit of maintenance to keep it shiny. Just follow these simple rules for best results:

• You should never put copper inside of a dishwasher. These products are not dishwasher safe.

• You should wash your copper pans with hot soapy water.

• It is also important that you do not allow copper cookware to air dry. This will cause your cookware to get spots that are hard to get clean.

• It is highly recommended that you towel dry your cookware immediately after washing it.

• When you are cooking, make sure that you are using soft or wood utensils with your copper cookware. This will keep your pans from being scratched and enabling food to be contaminated with metal pieces.

Although professional copper cleaners are the best to use, you can you a home made paste of water, salt and flour to keep your copper cookware bright and shiny.

Copper does scratch and dent rather easily, so be a little extra careful when handling and storing the pots and pans after use.

As you can see with just a little bit of extra care and maintenance you can keep your copper cookware in great shape for many years of enjoyable cooking.
