The winter Baikal leaves ineffaceable impression. Hummocked fields attract photographers’ attention by
unusual conglomeration of sparkling ice. Coastal rocks are decorated with ice spills with a height of
many meters. The Baikal freezes lately; the lake is fully covered with ice at the end of January. Armlets
of the small sea begin freezing earlier, at the beginning of November. Annually on the ice are built
roads. Every year roads are built.

The most mysterious and magic holiday, which we like from our early childhood is the New Year. Meet this
holiday in Baikal. For example: You can visit a ski lodge. To those, who have time, we advice to come
here for skiing in the middle of a week: queue for the lift is less and cost for using is also much less.

Besides that one can make use of an instructor’s services in teaching driving in snowboards and skis for
all ages. The ski complex “The Mountain Sobolinaya” has 6 routes: two – wide (about 40 m), sports routes
of 1870 and 2100 m length, two – 5000-8000, the slopes, prepared specially for beginners. On December –
opening of the winter season, which lasts from December, 1 to April, 1. Tourists are suggested crossing
of the lake via snowboards. One can try to drive on dog’s harness. “Give me snow and dog’s harness, and
the rest you may keep for yourselves!” These are the words of Knud Rasmusen, carried out the greatest in
the world history travel by dogs.

At will – independent walk about a settlement; supper at one’s own expense; overnight stay in a hotel;
instruction for the forthcoming safari by snowboards and dog’s harness. One snowboard is intended for two
persons. The beginning of the route about the territory of Pribaikalsky park along the valley of the
Krestovaya river and then over the pass Black to the bank of the Baikal. Hot dinner at the bonfire in the
taiga. Supper. Overnight stop. In the morning – continuation of the route via ice of the Baikal. At
clients’ will under ice fishing can be organized. On the small sea there are well-known places, tested by
many generations of fishermen, where fish migrate in search of natural feed. If good bite a fisherman
catches about 150 fishes a day, about 600-700 $. Specify prices. A price can varies. Restitution of
natures to the lodge is carried out in the known way. Next day – preparations and returning. Before
buying the ticket get to know the conditions of carrying out the tour and the climate. You can meet also
Shrovetide here. Many rites are connected with it. The most symbolic is farewell with winter when in the
large bonfire is burnt scarecrow of winter. You may take part in it. Period of action is the 22nd of
February to the 10th of March. Accommodation in hotel “Baikal”. Walking about the town, visiting museums.
The cost of the tour per man is approximately 800-300 euro.
