Carl Kinnebrew

Yes I know, if it ain’t broke, then don’t fix it. I have heard that all of my life, but it’s just not me. I am a do-it-yourselfer, fixer-upper, pack rat part collector type of guy. I like to be ready for anything and not be caught off guard. I my car breaks down, I like to have the replacement part and tools in the trunk so that I can get right to fixing it. If the washing machine gives me trouble, I don’t want to have to run here and there looking for parts to fix it. I prefer to have had it fixed before it broke.

I have this Winnebago RV that is not brand new by any means. I like to have Winnebago RV parts available just in case I might need one. My wife thinks I am crazy, but she never has had to walk down the highway hitching a ride if the vehicle breaks down. And there is nothing worse than spending your whole vacation looking for Coleman RV air conditioner parts, or an RV furnace part. It is much easier to have one with you, or not needing it because you replaced it before you left home.

I have a garage full of RV plumbing parts, RV thermostat parts, or anything else that I think I may need. I spend my spare time searching for replacement parts for RVs that I may be able to use. I go to flea markets, search the trader magazines and look at the online auctions. Discount RV parts and accessories do for me what new shoes do for my wife. What can I say, I’m crazy.

But I don’t just collect parts, I use them. I am constantly searching for parts on my RV that may need replacing and replacing them before they wear out. I will not replace them with cheap RV parts. I only purchase quality parts. This may come from my Boy Scout background where you are always to be prepared. Whatever the reason, this is just the way I am. I love to spend my spare time tinkering with something and I can’t think of a better place to put my efforts than into my RV. I keeps me out of trouble, and it makes my vacation time a lot more enjoyable.
