It is easy to conceptualize something to sell, but it is hard to get them bought, especially online. There has to be an online marketing strategy to keep the business flowing and prosper without tears.

When online marketing becomes as rampant as putting up billboards in buildings, now comes the next obstacle to make it a success. The big question will always be as simple as this: How will my site visitors buy?

Yes, plan on how the visitors will hang around the website and purchase!

Surfers browse with empty pockets and most of the time not in the buying mood, unless they browse to really buy. A good online marketing strategy will perk up the pangs of an innocent and passive surfer into an active buyer.

How can a website lure its potential customers?

GIVE FIRST BEFORE SELLING

A site whose scheme is purely putting up items to be bought will be left in a second after it has loaded. What can a customer gain out of spending time in your website if there is nothing to scavenge for a simple advantage? The customer will end up reading a nice "tips and tricks" in a competitor's website and buy there!
Therefore, good contents are important in trapping your visitors to stay longer in your website. Give something free before expecting good returns and it has to be substantial and beneficial. A business without this initiative of giving will only sell to those who only need the particular product at the moment but not to attract passive buyers.

Ways of "giving away" freebies come in different forms. Effective ways of attracting the customers to visit the website are possible with the following use of web contents:

1.FREE DOWNLOADABLES - a shareware or beta version of new software is an example of freebie, which can be downloaded and used freely by a customer until deciding to buy. This is fair to avoid customer complaints if unsatisfied with a high-priced software, only to find out it is not the desired one. Beta versions downloaded for free distribution advertises itself to those who tried. Usually, reactions are posted in forums and gets popular in no time.

2.CONTENT ARTICLES - If one has a business on a certain consumer product, a website filled with articles related to it will boost website traffic. Search engines pick up the keywords and will work on its own to create traffic of potential buyers. Therefore, it has to be geared to the desired audience or site visitors.

3.VIDEO SAMPLE - It is always savvy and cool to put up embedded video clips as preview. The disadvantage, however, is the loading time, which can exhaust a surfer's patience. Another consideration is the bandwidth to accommodate this feature in websites.

4.AUDIO SAMPLES - Music selling is easy to market in the web thru giving away samplings in MP3 format. Using audio as a tool to attract surfers is the most common and effective method of attracting visitors.

Other possibilities could also be established based on the products sold. There are ways of entrapping the surfers in a subtle way without giving them disadvantages and annoyance. Too aggressive methods are sometimes too harsh that it drives people away than getting their attention. Examples of which are pop-ups and spams thru emails.
