A true melting pot, San Francisco has a hybrid culture, originating from the Asian, Latino and American roots. This would probably explain the open-mindedness of San Francisco daters. It is not uncommon and it is definitely acceptable to see people from two different backgrounds or cultures dating.

Some people have said that San Francisco differs from other cities with active dating scenes by their styles. For instance, the bars in New York are more casual compared to the San Francisco bars.
