Living in a condo in Manhattan, with a spectacular view of Times Square might be a dream of many of us. It would be awesome to wake up every morning in Manhattan: a commercial, financial, and cultural center of the world.

New York's real estate market offers a wide variety of housing opportunities. There are over 8 million people living in New York. The housing industry includes single family homes, trendy condominiums and town homes.

There is so much about New York that makes it unique. Manhattan is one of its highlights. It is the most densely populated county in the United States. Manhattan is one of the greatest places to live. There are over 5 million people living in Manhattan and another 4 million who come to work here every day. Apartments in Manhattan are wonderful and diverse.

Neigborhoods in Manhattan are different in atmosphere. Some neighborhoods, like SoHo (South of Houston), are commercial in nature and known for upscale shopping. There is beautiful and unique cast iron architecture throughout the neighborhood. If you prefer seeing skyscrapers going on and on forever when you step out the door, Midtown is the best choice for you. More than 700,000 commuters work in its offices, hotels, and retail establishments; the area also hosts many tourists, visiting residents, and students. Some areas, especially Times Square and Fifth Avenue, have massive clusters of retail establishments. The Upper West Side is a nice and quiet area with many services, parks, so a great place to live. It has a diverse mix of culture and architecture. The Upper West Side claims some of the world's finest street addresses and the most prestigious buildings, such as Central Park West, West End Avenue and Riverside Drive. It contains many pre-war row houses that have been converted into multiple-unit co-ops and rental apartment buildings. If you are interested in art and nightlife, visit Chelsea. This area also has a large gay population.

It has advantages of buying real property as an investment as well as a place to live. Manhattan is attractive to investors, employers and residents, too. It is quite conceivable for an investor to make profits as high as 50%, 100%, or even more on the money invested in a relatively short period of time.

In addition a Manhattan condominium is the most expensive apartment you can rent in the United States - $2,400 a month on average – so you can also rent your condo and live somewhere else.

A condo can be a smart purchase and wise investment. Today, the vast majority of newly built New York City apartment buildings are condominiums. It offers more freedom and flexibility than co-ops. Condominiums are considered real property, just like freestanding houses. No cumbrous co-op board package to fill out, you don't have to tell a set of complete strangers how much money you have and things like that. Condos give you more privacy.
