Water filters work to rid your water of contaminates, but preserve the minerals that your body needs. When water contains calcium, magnesium, potassium, and other trace elements, you are getting the essential nutrients that you need to survive. While bottled water is purified, the natural elements that are essential are stripped out in the process of purification. Sometimes companies will put them back in after the water is purified, but not always.

A lot of bottlers use reverse osmosis or other types of distillation to purify water, label it as such, and then don’t put back in the minerals that our bodies need to survive. Water purifiers are better in this regard, because they take out the impurities but don’t take out the nutrition. If you are really adamant about drinking bottled water, take a moment and read the ingredients.

The minerals will be listed on the label if they have been re-added. Also call the 1-800 numbers on the label. You will find that most bottled waters come from a city municipality. While the water is processed, its the EPA, not the FDA regulates this product, so the only difference between bottled water and what comes out of your tap is negligible.

The reason why consumers buy bottled water is because they are afraid of pollutants and other toxins that come from having city water. What they don’t know is that high quality water filters can remove up to ninety percent of these impurities while maintaining the integrity of the essential minerals that people need to consume on a daily basis.

These types of antioxidants are extremely important to maintain health and well being. Your body needs these nutrients to help balance its acidic state. Simply put, cells in the body produce waste that needs to be flushed out or tissue will slowly deteriorate. This can cause disease like cancer, arthritis, diabetes and osteoporosis.

The acid level in the water you drink is important. Premium water filters don’t change the alkaline balance in your water so it helps to neutralize acids in your body which can interfere with the electrochemical activity that occurs from cell to cell. Since the body loses 2.5 liters of water a day from normal bodily functions, it is important to drink a lot of water. Water filters are the best way to combine the benefits of essential minerals and alkaline level that humans need to maintain a healthier life.

Reading the specifications on the packing is the best way to sort out what kind of water filters might be right for you. Also, consulting your local government to have someone come out and test your water will help you decide what kind of water filters you need to install in your home.
