If you are looking at adopting a child one of the first things you will probably want to find is an adoption agency, but how do you go about finding the adoption agencies in your area? In this article we are going to look at a number of places where you can find adoption agencies in the United States and United Kingdom.

The My Adoption Agencies website covers adoption agencies in the United States; their listing is broken down in a number of ways, making it easier for you to find what you are looking for. You can either choose to look up agencies according to whether they do international adoptions, domestic adoptions, infant adoptions or older child adoptions, as well as by race group or by state. Their listings include quite a bit of information about each adoption agency including some basic information about the agency, agency location and contact details, as well as the adoptable races and what services it offers.

The British Association for Adoption and Fostering covers adoption agencies in the United Kingdom and is broken down according to each area. The information on each listing includes the address, email address and website, as well as quite a bit of information in paragraph form about each of the agencies.

The Adoption Information Line also covers adoption agencies in the United Kingdom with the address of the agency, telephone and fax numbers and a link to their website if there is one. You can either use their regional directory or search using your post code under the local directory listings. For more info see http://www.childadoptionguide.org/Gay_Adoption.html

The Child Welfare Information Gateway also offers a directory of adoption agencies and other resources for those interested in adoption. The National Adoption Directory can be searched by entering the state you are wanting as well as what type of information you are looking for (e.g. agencies that do domestic adoptions). The information provided includes the address of the agency, telephone and fax numbers, email or website address, as well as a number of other details regarding the agency and the services it offers. They also have a listing of agencies that are involved with international adoptions in America.

In addition to this Google has a section under their web directory which has the links to various adoption agencies’ websites listed in alphabetical order on different pages. If you want more information then is listed on the above websites then you may want to try using the Google directory under Home/Family/Adoption/Agencies.

In conclusion, there are a number of places on the internet where you can get information about different adoption agencies in your area. These include websites such as My Adoption Agencies, The British Association for Adoption and Fostering, the Adoption Information Line and the Child Welfare Information Gateway.
