In advertising, strong statements make the most impact. After all, advertisers are tasked not only with capturing the target group's fickle interest, but also with retaining it --- and retaining it well.

In the race to come up with exciting and memorable ways to imprint brand and company names into the public's consciousness, advertising companies are utilizing non-traditional mediums. In the past, the most reliable mediums for promoting products or names is through radio advertising and outdoor advertising, in the form of huge posters and billboards. Over the years, Internet displays and cable TV ads have become just as highly utilized. Recently, however, a new trend has cropped up in the market: ad specialties.

What Are Ad Specialties?
Ad specialties are striking items imprinted with logos. They are distributed to a target market as promotional items. Constant use of the items by their recipients guarantee companies of continuous advertising they need not pay for.

Most companies stick to tried and tested products that rank highly in wearability. These products are shirts, hats, and sporting goods. Other companies, however, prefer to make a lasting impression through witty use of logo and non-traditional items. For example, one company gives away toasters designed to imprint its logo on bread. Another distributes plants that have its logo etched on the leaves. As the plants grow, the logo becomes bigger.

Advertising Trends
One trend in ad specialties is picking items that have a direct relation to the company or its operations. This ensures people's quick association between the item and the company. It is also a good idea to pick items that highlight your company's core competencies. For example, if you run an insurance company, it would be a good idea to give away umbrellas. These umbrellas may bear your company's logo and the caption, "We shelter you from blows." If, on the other hand, you run a shipping company, you might want to distribute clocks. Along with your company name and logo printed at the back of each clock, you could add, "We are always on time."

The trick, therefore, is choosing products that remind people why your company is a cut above the rest.

Leather Money Clips: A Safe Option
Perhaps one of the most versatile promotional items to give out are leather money clips. Everyone needs money clips. It doesn't matter what industry one belongs to, or what core competency one's company prides itself with. Leather money clips will always make a strong statement because every person and every business deals with money.

The good thing about leather money clips is that they reinforce connections to values that are always prized in every company. Organization and financial shrewdness, for example, are two values that can be associated from financial institutions such as banks to companies that specialize in events promotion. Additionally, because of the material leather money clips are made of, it is easy to imprint company logos and catchy phrases on them. If you work for a bank, for example, you could engrave, "We help you organize your assets," on the leather money clips. You could also go for, "Because we help you take care of your money."

Undoubtedly, leather money clips are convenient and memorable promotional items that will help you advertise your product, service, or company name. No matter what promotional item you choose, however, you must never lose sight of the primary function your item should serve. It should remind people why they like your company or need your service.
