Why is it that Mother`s day is only celebrated once year - when in fact a mother never stops mothering her children 365 days of any 12 month period, therefore making mothers day - every day. Remember the saying "You only have one mother" well never a truer word spoken.

Moms love surprises, so now is your chance to give her the unexpected.

1 Change tradition and gift mother with an all in paid holiday, if you are in the position to do so.

2 Find an old friend that she has not seen for years and have a reunion

3 Send her to a health farm where she can relax and be pampered

4 Have a rota to lighten her load - where you promise to do the chores or decorating

5 Book a venue hall and invite all your friends and family and make this mother's day a memorable one.

6 You can always gift mother on mother's day with money, but we all know the cash donation gets spent on the kids regardless, so it is a good idea to give gift vouchers.

7 Send her to the theatre to watch the latest west end show

8 A reservation to dine at one of her favourite restaurants
