Language plays a major role when it comes to writing a text, as it is through language that the text is understood and interpreted by the readers. It casts a deep impact on the comprehension ability of the readers. Technical writing positions are opened for those who can write effectual end-user manuals, system design documents, websites, and the like for engineering and IT firms. The work of technical writers is to write, design, edit proposals, manuals, WebPages, lab reports, newsletters, and other such professional documents.
Technical writing is a specialized and organized way of writing, in which information is presented in a formatted manner so that it is easily interpreted and understood by the readers. It should be written in such a manner that it suits the cognitive and psychological needs of the readers. Technical writing involves acquisition and transfer of knowledge about process and structure and about the knowledge used to alter and convey the information.

To make information available, accessible, and readable, it has to be formatted, organized, and styled in a proper manner. The content should be divided in appropriate sections so that the readers can read it with ease. If a company wants to give the document a business seeks, then it cannot compromise upon the format of the document, as it is a part of "corporate identity" promotion.

The writing is formatted in such a manner that it makes reading simple, effective, and pleasant.

The following points must be remembered for good technical writing:

Ø Write in short paragraphs

Ø It is always better to use bulleted lists rather than narratives

Ø Give a sub-heading to each idea

Most of the times, technical paragraphs don't need concluding or intermediary sentences as the inverted pyramid structure often makes the conclusion look unneeded. The visibility of the sub-headings gives confidence to the readers to leave out some portions of the article and read only a few parts of it rather than following each transition of the article.

A qualified and able technical writer has the capability to write on a complicated technical subject in a way that is understood by all.

Lastly, technical writing aims at solving a particular problem of the reader by providing him relevant information.
