The tool is usually composed of a low housing a universal electric motor vertically assembled with a ring on the end of its axis. The little is size-adjustable to allow the projection by an opening in ladies punts, usually via adjusting the size of engine-support (the mechanism of the adjustment is changed considerably among manufacturers). The ordering of the router is derived from a handle or a button on each side from the device, or by the “closed handle” recently more developed. There are two standard of dive of router and fixed types.

Using a router of plunge-bases, the plant of the foot of the base is placed on the face of work with the edge increased above work, then the engine is started and the cutter is lowered in work. With a router of fixed-bases, the depth of cutting is placed before the tool is started. The ladies are then one or the other rested flat on the object overhanging the edge so that the edge do not come into contact with work (and then do not write the work on the side once the engine is lit), or the ladies are placed under an angle with the little above work and the little “is rocked” more in work once the engine is started.

In each case, the little cuts its manner inside, but the router of dive does it in a manner more refining, although the little used must be formed thus it is tedious in once lowered wood. The bed plate (ladies) is generally circular (although this, also, changes by various models) and can be employed at the same time as a barrier attached to the base, which then attaches the router against the edge of work, or via a rule maintained through work to obtain a right cut. Other means of guiding the machine include the casing of guide of gauge fixed in the base around the cutter of router, or the cutters of router with the integrated bearings of guide. Both race counters a flat rim or a formed gauge.

Without this, the variable reaction of wood against the couple of the tool makes it impossible to order with the precision normally required. Like alternative, the tool can also be assembled in an orientation reversed below the tables of router and to be used as miniature fashioner of axis. The machine is assembled below the table in the related way to a circular saw assembled like a saw of table. With such an installation, it is often recommended that work passed above him along a barrier. With some arrangements of table of router who it is possible to adjust to put it except play to take action pursuant to incline a saw to put except play in order to cross with the axis of the tool under an angle other than 90 to the face of work.
