For many years baby showers have been a way for expectant mothers to get together with their family and friends, have some much needed fun, and to welcome new life. While it may be a great reason for the mom-to-be and her female friends to celebrate, there are other important people who may also want to join in on the fun. A cook-out theme is also a simple and inexpensive way to have a great afternoon of fun. Encourage people to bring a staple such as chips and pretzels, napkins, condiments or any small item that doesn't require much planning. While the parents-to-be at this different type of shower are the guests of honor, everyone else who attends is also a guest and shouldn't feel that they have to prepare or cook foods in order to attend the party.

This type of outdoor baby shower is excellent for getting reacquainted with old friends, and maybe even making some new ones. This is also a good time for the men to get to know one another and perhaps even show the new dad what great fun families and children can be!
