“Telling Lignano in 30'” is the contest theme of the “Filmofono” 1st edition whereby competitors are required to make a 30 seconds short film about their holiday experience in Lignano with a mobile and then submit it to the judges.

The contest is a joint initiative of two associations the “Confraternita dei Tiratardi” and the “Lignano nel terzo millennio” whose main aim is supporting the development of cultural and recreational activities.

This contest blows like a breath of fresh air in the hot Lignano summer: competitors will not only present their own experience, but they will also show Lignano through their own eyes, they will share the same point of view with the audience.

Beside enjoying these short art works, people will also be given a chance to infer a lot about what Lignano is and about what it could become according to the coming generation of tourists. An exciting idea for tourists, this contest represents then also a good opportunity for the city to think about itself, which on the one hand means leaving itself open to possible criticism, but on the other hand is a unique chance to get a couple of new ideas to be implemented in the future.

Short-films can be submitted:

per post at the “Ass. Confraternita del Tiratardi” via Prefettura 1 – 33100 Udine,

per email at filmofono@confracorti.net

per MMS at the number 333 8318444 (do not forget to dial +39 if you are sending the MMS from a non-Italian mobile)

via web downloading short films on the website of the “Messaggero Veneto”, which has a reserved area for the “Filmofono contest”

by directly handing your work in at the following collection points P.I.A.T. (the tourist office) in Lignano Sabbaidoro, via Latisana 42 or in Lignano Pineta, via dei Pini 53

Net Café in Lignano Pineta, Corso degli Alisei 11, where there are also PCs equipped on purpose with software devices to download and edit your art works.

All works must be submitted before 15th August 2007 and within 25th August 2007 the Artistic Direction will decide upon admission to the contest. All selected “directors” will be called directly by the organisation team, therefore submitted works must bear precise reference to the author: name, surname and telephone number.

The closing ceremony will take place on 1st September 2007 at the Kursaal, an exclusive local on the beach promenade in Lignano Riviera.

During the event all selected short films will be shown to the public. After this first film screening, judges will choose the winners for the category “best short film” and “best idea”: The top ranked ones will be awarded with a one-week holiday in Lignano, booking and accommodation included, in a hotel or apartment.

Participating is easy, the idea is interesting and prizes are worth the effort: what are you then still waiting for? Join the contest and have fun making your own film!
