Dressing up your dog is not something new. Some of us used to dress up our dog when we were kids and take them for walks in our strollers. They were our fur-babies, and we played with them, like other children would play with dolls. When we grew up, we did not loose that sense of whimsy and still love to dress up our dogs. It is like having a large furry Barbie to play with. And then some of us refuse to believe that our furry companions are just dogs. For us, we want to show off our dog in the style that they have grown accustomed to. These are just a few reasons why people purchase dog clothes.

Whether it is a nice warm sweater on those cold winter days or designer duds for your pooch, the dog clothing industry is a million dollar business. Sweaters, t-shirts, bandanas, hats and more are being purchased in record numbers. Some people are very frugal when it comes to dressing their pet, scouring the internet trying to find the best deal, while others will only purchase the finest outfits for their designer dog no matter what the cost. You can find just about anything, in any price range. You can find cheap to couture, economical to designer and everything in between. There is something for everyone and every dog, whether they are big or small, fluffy or sleek. From Mastiffs, to Poodles, there are clothes that will fit just about every dog.

As long as the clothes are comfortable, most dogs do not seem to mind. For a lot of dogs, once the get used to the clothes, they do not like being nakedÂ. I know of dogs that will stand and beg at the dresser wanting their clothes to be put on. Once they have on the outfit they dance and prance around, like they are King or Queen of the world. Plus they like the extra attention when they are praised over and over by their owners for being so stylish. It is a win-win situation. The owner feels good, and the dog feels good. Not to mention all the attention they receive when they are out for their walk and complete strangers come by to give them an extra rub on the ear for being so cute.

Dog Clothes also say a lot about the owner. Rarely will you see a biker with a dog wearing a tutu, but you would probably see the dog wearing a cute leather jacket. Dogs wearing clothing are an extension of the owner and most owners take great care in picking out just the right outfit for their fur-baby. Some owners go so far as to have their dogs match what they are wearing for the day.

So, whether you are looking for a whole wardrobe, or just a few pieces to compliment what you already own, you should be able to find just what you are looking for. You might even find things you did not know you needed.
