If you want to wear contact lenses, you have a choice of a number of different manufacturers. This is because contact lenses are today popular all over the world. Contact lenses have become the most widely used alternative to wearing eye glasses. The reasons are that they are affordable as well as easy to use and to take care of. In today's world, when a person finds they have a need for vision correction, and are given a choice between contacts or glasses, contacts are the number one choice.

While making the choice to wear contacts may be easy, choosing the brand you want can be difficult because there are so many to choose from. In most cases, your optometrist will make a recommendation based on his or her personal experience. New brands of contact lenses appear on the market on a regular basis. New users may have trouble choosing the right brand to fill both the health and vision needs of their eyes, as well as their own cosmetic preferences.

Of all of the different contact lens manufacturers and brands, the unanimous vote for manufacturing the best contact lenses goes to Acuvue. The Acuvue brand has dominated the contact lens market for several years and Johnson and Johnson have proven that they have the capability to produce the best of the best. Acuvue, the manufacturer of the popular Hydraclear contact lenses, proved to the world that contact lenses do not have to be uncomfortable for anyone, regardless of their vision problems. Thanks to Hydraclear, Acuvue quickly rose to the top of the contact lens market.

Choosing the right contact lens brand and manufacturer for you means researching the offerings of each manufacturer. Learning about the different manufacturers can help you decide which one offers the best in terms of price and products. The Internet is a very useful tool when it comes to conducting your research. If you do not want to look online, talk to your optometrist, his/her associates, or even your local contact lens store for ideas.

Of the best contact lens manufacturers, the top two seem to be Bausch and Lomb and Acuvue. Each manufacturer offers several different contact lens types to choose from, and prices can differ sharply between manufacturers. If price is a concern, Bausch and Lomb offer the same high quality than Acuvue, but at more affordable prices to fit your budget.

It is important to choose the best brand of contact lenses for your eye health. Testing the contact lenses will help you make a better decision. Just because the contact lenses "look" the same does not mean they are the same. Different manufacturers and different brands have a different feel. Getting advice from friends and family is always a good idea, but keep in mind that just because certain lens types works well for them, does not mean they will work well for you too.

Experimentation with the different brands and manufacturers is your best bet for finding the right contact lenses for your eyes. What should you be looking for? You should take note of how they focus your eyes, how comfortable they are and if they feel like they may dry your eyes out?
