Writing interesting unique and original articles and then distributing them to content hungry ezines and publishers along with a return link to your site, is one of the most exciting ways to dynamically increase visitors to your website, but how do you make your article become hot roast which is greedily devoured by publishers? Follow these simple steps and you'll be more popular than cold beer on a hot day!

Step #1

Make sure you run a spell check! Check your grammar, and paragraph structure. Decide if you are going to use English spelling or American spelling and stick to it. It's looks unprofessional if you have a mixture of different spelling rules in one sentence or paragraph.

Grammar is important, if you want readers to be able to easily understand your material you must use correct grammar. Readers will scan your articles for the information they need. So make sure your paragraphs have a general topic sentence, supporting sentences and if necessary, a concluding sentence.

Your article shouldn't have too many words in capitals. Capitals give the reader the impression you're shouting at them. It's OK to have a few where necessary but try not to have full phrases in capitals.

Step #2

Proof reading is vital to insure the best quality article. Have at least one person proof read it before you go madly submitting to every directory in the universe. If that isn't possible, it's a good idea to wait for a week or so after you've finished writing it, then open it and re read everything. This is the next best thing to having someone else proof your article for you. Proof reading will ensure your article is of a high quality.

Step #3

People will read your article to find information about something. So put yourself in the reader's shoes and give them what they are looking for. Don't tell them all about yourself or your site. Self promoting will cause publishers to reject your articles, so if you're hoping to be included in ezines it makes sense to give only the information the reader is looking for.

Step #4

Your article must stand alone, like a good move sequel? Never refer to other articles under the guise of providing more information when you really only want visitors to come to your site. Publishers will drop these articles like hot rocks. Make sure you include all the information there and then, so that your article "stands alone", and is complete by its self.

Step #5

Go into detail about the topic of the article. If you stray off topic you'll lose the reader. Readers are reading your article because they are looking for information about something, so give it to them as clearly and concisely as you possibly can. Don't leave readers on a cliff hanger; make sure you give all the information related to the particular paragraph.

Step #6

Optimize your article title. The title is the first thing the reader sees, so make sure you grab them with it. Keep it to one simple statement only. Your opening or closing paragraph will tell you what the article is about, so re-read them and try to create a title using three words. You'll find that's almost impossible, so settle for four. Capitalize the first letter of every word in the title, except articles and prepositions. An optimized title will tell the reader in one simple statement what the article is about.

Step #7

Your article should be key word dense. Key word density is important, but it can be over done. Staying on topic will naturally improve your key word density. Don't substitute readability and grammar for the sake of increasing your key word density. A well written article will always be key word dense.

Step #8

Write genuine original content. Get ideas from other articles that you have read and liked. Ask yourself why you liked them and incorporate those ideas into your article. Don't copy other people's work, but by all means use their work as a reference to help you write exceptionally high quality articles, which are original and yours!

Step #9

The resource box should be written in the third person so it isn't self promoting. Encourage people to click on your link. Have a maximum of two links in it. Make sure your links are active. If you write the resource box information in the first person promoting yourself, publishers won't want to use your content.

Step #10

The most important step is to get your article out there! Submit your article to all the article directories you can, using any of the article submission software or services available online. Check your articles after they have been approved if you can. Make sure they are categorized correctly and that your links are alive! There is no point in doing all the steps above if you don't take this last and most important step.

All of the above in a nutshell

To write a really good article you must be writing it for the reader, not yourself. Always check grammar and spelling. Get it proof read, or allow a cooling off period before you proof read it yourself. Write original content that comes from your heart in a genuine effort to share your knowledge. Submit your article and check it to make sure your resource box links are alive! Follow all these steps and your articles will be more popular than cold beer on a hot day!
