There are two important facets to your internet marketing website; the content and the design. While it is the content that can really sell the visitor, it is the design that reels them in and keeps them at your site. Here are 5 tips to creating a visually appealing home based business site.

1. Large header
The header is perhaps the most crucial part to your website. As soon as people click onto your site, the first thing they see is the header. You want your header to grab the reader’s attention without doing so in a demanding manner. They should know what your site is all about without realizing the power of the header. You want it to be large and creative, but try not to put too much flash into it. This only creates a tacky feeling.

2. Plain and simple
There is a difference between plain and simple and boring. The last thing you want to do is create a home based business site that is dull and boring. But at the same time, there is no need for tons of banners and flashing signs and bright colors. Find a balance between the two and keep it plain and simple. This will keep the reader interested while keeping their focus on the content.

3. Medium font
Some people have a fear of their font being too small and unreadable. What ends up happening is the large font takes away the focus from the rest of the page and creates a tacky feel. The most efficient way to bring attention to your key points is to underline phrases and words or bold them. This allows skimmers to jump right to the key points on the page without having to read through your entire home based business site. Make sure that it is your key points, though, and not every other sentence. This only creates a clutter of mixed fonts.
