How To Make Candles That Look Like Food: Some Yummy Tips

Do you enjoy the fun and yummy look or candles that look like food? Well its not hard to create your own yummy looking candles. All you really need are some candle molds that are shaped like your favorite foods. You can make muffins, pizza, fruits, vegetables, and just about anything else you can think of. I highly recommend using silicone molds because the candles pop out very easy once they’ve cooled.

If you are interested in making your own yummy looking candles, then here’s a simple guide:

What You Need

You can be very creative when choosing what you want your candles to look like. Buy some creative silicone molds from your favorite craft store or browse some online sites.. You will need a jar of soy or paraffin wax in the appropriate color(s), a metal saucepan, a thermometer, spoon, candle scent (optional), protective gloves and candlewicks.

Making Your Candle

You first have to melt the wax and it needs to be double boiled. If you don’t have a double boiler, put water in the bottom of a sauce pan and heat on a low flame. Put some pieces of wax in a can and place the can in the pan of water. Add more pieces of wax as it melts. You can add scent and coloring if you like. Next place your wick at the bottom of your mold and carefully pour the wax around it. Let your candle cool for at least 3 hours. If you are adding more wax (pepperoni on your pizza candle for example) then you will need to heat up more wax in the appropriate color and add to the cooled candle. Then all you need to do is trim your wicks. That’s it! You’ve created your own candle.

Display these yummy creations around your home in kitchen. Just be sure to tell everyone else so they won’t be tempted to take a bite!
