Ever felt confused or entirely bored reading Napoleon Hill? I sure have. Ever worried that you were somehow inferior because Hill -- or another success guru -- just didn't click for you? Take heart...

At a recent Abraham workshop (www.abraham-hicks.com), Abraham explained that Napoleon Hill's later publishers had removed all of the references to spirit from the original version of "Think and Grow Rich."

It was similar, Abraham said, to the producers of "The Secret" excising Abraham from later copies of the DVD. While "The Secret" still appeals on a mental and emotional level, those of us who loved the original version may feel that something's missing without Abe.

Abraham's information explained why "Think and Grow Rich" had always struck me as a grueling guide to mental effort and discipline of will.

Sure Hill's advice can work for lots of people. Anything we're lined up with can work because we believe in it.

But if you, like me, aren't lined up with Hill -- or any other prosperity teacher -- all it means is that your unique path is leading you in a different direction. Follow it.

If reading dead success gurus feels great, they're on your path. I sometimes enjoy them. Just don't make every obscure 19th or early 20th century prosperity teacher into the ultimate authority on how to attain success in 2007.

That would be like going to a dentist who practices 19th century dentistry.

Yeech.

Aligning with spirit (and success) has always been about aligning with expansion. In our age, success no longer depends on force of will and mental effort. Those outdated concepts are literally history!

We've evolved to experience a more direct route to creating a success vibration -- by becoming conscious of our feelings. Feeling our connection to spirit is the fastest route to success that's ever existed.

The magically creative power of feeling oneness with spirit isn't new knowledge. You can read all about it in the Bible, the Vedas, the Tao Te Ching...

What is new? Today ordinary people -- people you see driving Hondas and chatting in coffee bars -- are applying the feeling of oneness to practical aspects of their lives. Spiritual knowledge is no longer hidden away to be practiced in secret by initiates.

We've evolved. Which means that millions of "regular people" today consciously participate in the expansion of the universe. That's amazing!

So don't assume those dead guys had it all figured out and that you're a pathetic novice struggling for clues to The Big Secret.

My guess is all of them would trade places with you in a nanosecond for the Internet access alone.

Appreciate that you are here in this time and place on the leading edge of thought to expand the universe. Not by becoming rich (though you will if you want to). But by becoming consciously aware of your feelings and deliberately choosing the feelings you prefer.
