A Napa Valley wine tour is fun and exciting and can be enjoyed any time of the year. Regardless of whether it's spring, summer, fall, or winter, the climate will be sure to afford you the opportunity to enjoy your visit to the Napa Valley. In additional to wonderful weather, Napa Valley is also known as a region that offers beautiful scenery too.

Wine enthusiasts everywhere are already aware that the Napa Valley is home to hundreds of wineries. There are at least five wineries that were selected for the famous Paris Wine Tasting of 1976. This selection helped to create a change in the impression of the general public about Californian wines.

Judges selected Napa Valley Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon to be better than several French labels. It also helped to establish a trend for wine production to rival previously established leaders such as France, Italy and Spain.

Although the valley is only 30 miles long and about from 5 miles wide, the Napa Valley is one of the top wine-producing regions in the United States, and is well-recognized as one of the major wine regions of the world.

This high concentration of vineyards has earned California the reputation of the single largest wine producing state. In fact, there are over 200 wineries located in the greater Napa Valley area. Most of the wineries in Napa Valley are small, family owned wineries that have been in existence for almost 100 years.

Without a doubt, the main attraction is to be able to visit some of these world famous wineries and have the chance to taste these wines as well as to be able to observe the entire wine making process. A Napa Valley wine tour offers excellent wines that appeal to so many because they may not otherwise have the chance to taste them.

On a Napa Valley wine tour everyone can sample some of the most wonderful wines in the world. Regardless if you are a “newbie” or seasoned with years of wine tasting experience, you will be able to enjoy the entire process as you see the art of wine making from beginning to end.

The overall concept of a Napa Valley wine tour has become very popular over the years. These tours attract lots of tourists from around the world. In fact it's the second largest tourist spot in California with an estimated 5 million tourists visiting every year. Even though Napa Valley is full of beautiful landscapes, it is the wine industry and the production of quality wines that attracts so many to this destination.

There are many organized Napa Valley wine tours where wine lovers are given the chance to visit many famous wineries and taste these world-famous wines for themselves. A Napa Valley wine tour is sure to show some of the best wineries in the world and will allow you the opportunity to buy a first class wine at a discounted price. Many tours take visitors through the valley, starting in Napa, then passing through Yountville, Oakville, St. Helena and Calistoga.

Many of the Napa Valley wine tour operators originate from San Francisco. Services available may vary from tour guide to tour guide. Tour options may also depend on the visitor's preferences. Some wine guides have exclusive arrangements with some of the more prestigious wineries, while other guides take guests to several wineries that are open to the public.

There are quite a number of options available for your transportation. Groups can travel by passenger buses, sedans, vans, or even limousines. In fact limos are the transportation of choice for luxurious tours. The transportation fees can range anywhere from $60 to $200.

When you are planning your next travel destination, be sure to consider the Napa Valley. You will be sure to not only enjoy yourself, but also create memories that will be one-of-kind that can only be created by a Napa Valley wine tour.
