"Rome was not built in a day". The same goes true with building up your brand identity. Extensive research and planning is what is required in order to set up a solid brand identity. The results will not show up within days, weeks or even months. Brand building is a slow and natural process and business moves should be made keeping the future in mind. Marketing gurus are coming up with numerous mantras for effective brand building everyday. To begin, brand building is the outcome of the combined effects of visual elements in the marketing materials. A successful brand building campaign comprises of a logo, letterhead, business card, branded envelope, etc. This list can extend to include brochures, website, flyers, folders or any other professionally designed items.

Successful brand building demands some essential prerequisites. Uniqueness is the key to the building up of a successful brand. The 'unique' character of a brand is materialized through its logo design. Hence diligent effort is required to make the logo design different from its competitors and avoid its being a mirror image of any of its competitors.

A very important but often overlooked fact is the ‘repetition’ factor in your business approach. Entrepreneurs should remember that your erstwhile clients or existing customers could forget about your existence amidst the vast humdrum of things. Your business should, therefore, seek out ways to constantly remind your customers about your existence. This allows the brand to remain etched in the minds of the people for long. Sending newsletters and publishing press releases about the latest updates on your business serve as constant reminders to the customers of your business’ existence and aids in keeping your brand alive.

Today, fresher ideas have cropped up that can be truly effective to spread your brand across the world. Advertisements, viral marketing, distribution of pamphlets and brochures, sponsoring famous events, press conferences are some of common tactics of brand promotion. Online marketing greats are now raving about the benefits of social media marketing, blogging being a major element of this marketing strategy. Regardless of the marketing strategies adopted, it is highly essential to portray the business logo the way it should be. Entrepreneurs should make consistent use of their logo and taglines whenever they talk about their business. Hence, the text or tagline of your logo design or graphics should be crisp and attractive. It's generally noticeable that short and catchy lines make an instant impact on the people. Such impact can be created through alliteration, unique word usage, and lively imagery in your text.

To speak a little more about the graphics and text of your business, special attention is also required to give it a clean and clear outlook. The design of your logo should bring out the objective of your business symbolically. The text should be meaningful enough to lend depth to your brand identity. Once the visual impact of your brand starts to rope in customers, you should try your level best to live up to their expectations. Failure in this case will most likely harm the relationship between you and your customers. So make sure to back your brand and deliver your promises on time to win customer loyalty.

The ultimate goal of brand building is to create a feeling of trust on people's mind. 'Targeted products should simultaneously remind people of your brand name': that's what we call brand building! For instance, thinking about sports wear reminds us of Nike or Reebok; this testifies the intensity of the impact that the brand has created on our minds. So if you want your brand to capture the minds of the people, you must build a brand personality and connect it with your relevant business clients.

Last but definitely not the least, is the demand for professionalism that is required to build up a successful brand identity. Hint of professionalism should be reflected in every aspect of your business: be it your logo design or graphics, your tagline, your presentation, or customer service. These small but effective steps can work wonders for your business and help in the making of a memorable brand.
