Let me say it all in the first sentence of this article, that if you’re successful with your ad copywriting, you’ll have clients coming to you, begging you to work with them and paying you first. If you’re a freelance copywriter and you still scramble to get clients, bid to get jobs and earn minimum fees, then you are nowhere close to success.

You’ll agree with me that freelance career is a world of independence, confidence and wealth, but unfortunately, the internet and the world over is flooded with people who claim to be professional copywriters. Yet, the business world is starved for competent writes. The big question then is, how do I position myself, as a freelance copywriter, in the cash flow funnel of copywriting and never run out of jobs.

There are a number of secrets you must master in order to succeed in the art of freelancing. You will not rise to the top of your career if you dabble into freelance ad copy writing without mastering these secrets. You must really have been able to establish yourself as a professional copywriter to be able get clients scrambling over themselves to get you. These days, only the professionals, those that has mastered these secrets are getting the big clients and all the money.

There are basically two types of copywriters, the striving copywriters and the starving copywriters. If you desire to be one of the thriving copywriters, then you must;

• Learn How to be Confident. This is the most important secret you need to master. When you’re confident, you can tap into the gushing river of desperate clients. Its your level of confidence that will determine if you’re actually working FOR your client or you’re working WITH them. Meanwhile, you’re meant to work WITH them and not FOR them.

• Learn How to Control The Entire Copywriting Process. When you’re in control, your client listen to you, pay you first (before job completion) and accept your work without editing it. This will help you not to be at the mercy of your client.

• Learn How to Charge Your Fees. Copywriting is not an easy job, that is what makes it the lucrative career that it is. Therefore, you should not under-price your own work. You must learn how to charge some of the highest fees without the fear of loosing your clients. Remember, Confidence is the KEY. So you should never underestimate yourself.

• Learn How to Negotiate Your Royalties. Some Ad copies run for several months, even years and you’re entitled to earn royalty as the writer of such copies. Most Rookies (the no knowledge copywriter) miss out.

• Learn to Present Yourself As A Professional. To each new client that comes to you, you must make him see you as an Alpha Dog in the field. Acquire the skill to command attention and respect.

Above all, you must learn to write your Ad Copies in a professional manner. Choose a Unique Selling point, USP, write neat Headlines, professionally written openings and meaningful closing. Your success chances are slim if you don’t train yourself and spend the money required to acquire the skills necessary to uplift your copywriting business. When you fail to train yourself, your clients (if you ever get any) will treat you like a low-level vendor, step on you and pay you last (if at all).

You can earn a 7 figure income doing copywriting as a freelancer, if you use the tips mentioned above. Become a copywriter today and earn money doing what you love.
