India is known and recognized as a land of diversity which has been home to many diverse cultures and traditions that have coexisted harmoniously side by side over the ages. When we talk about this great nation, a number of destinations spring to mind, which have received international recognition as popular tourist spots and the tremendous sense of hospitality only adds to the charm of India. Among Indian states, when you think color, one name that is bound to strike out is Rajasthan. In terms of area, it is the largest state which is a part of Republic of India. It encompasses the beauty of the oldest mountain range of Aravalli as well as part of the great Thar desert. In spite of being a desert area it can also boast of a hill station called Mount Abu.

Even innumerable trips to Rajasthan cannot acquaint you with its complete beauty. It is home to a rich tradition and culture and on each of your trips to Rajasthan you will unearth yet another mystery associated with the desert land. Palaces and forts conspire to transport you back in time and you find yourself lost in the glory and grandeur of the Maharajas and princes of ancient India. The trips to Rajasthan will help you discover an entirely different world consisting of the pink city of Jaipur, archeological ruins at Kalibanga and the abode of the royal tiger at the two famous national tiger reserves of Ranthambore and Sariska.

The trips to Rajasthan and its interiors will unfold the story behind many beliefs and tradition and you might even have the chance to visit Pushkar, which is the only place worldwide, to have a temple dedicated to Lord Brahma. It is therefore essential that the trips to Rajasthan are planned in an extended and leisurely fashion in order to give you sufficient scope to get a true glimpse at history. A short hurried trip through the magnificent state will serve no purpose at all and would be completely unfair to the visitor. An elaborate trip would in turn help you get a taste of the Rajasthani hospitality and give you a chance to savor their tradition and culture. Some aspects of their rich culture like the folk music and traditional food have managed to find recognition and appreciation, not only in India but also in many places abroad.

Any of the trips to Rajasthan would be therefore be incomplete if the visitor cannot experience an evening enjoying the popular ghoomar dance from Udaipur or perhaps indulge in a shopping spree amongst the colorful markets of Jodhpur and Jaipur. The state of Rajasthan is known for its traditional handicraft involving block prints, tie and dye prints, zari embroidery and even the Sanganer prints. So unless one has personally experienced and cherished every aspect of this colorful and glorious state, even repeated trips to Rajasthan will not give him or her, the same feeling of satisfaction. It is therefore important to plan your trip in advance and get to know Rajasthan and through it India, at its very best.
