If you have been looking at visiting or moving to Cyprus then one of the main things that you will want to know about is the climate in Cyprus throughout the seasons. When you are going on holiday you usually try to pick out the best time of year to go so that you will benefit the most from the holiday. However if you are moving there you will need to know all about the different seasons and what to expect. So whether you are moving to Cyprus or whether you would just like to know more about the different seasons, here you will find all the information that you need to know.

The Different Seasons - What to Expect

The great thing about Cyprus is that the climate does not seem to change throughout the seasons. It is one of the only places in the world which has a near perfect climate practically every day of the week.

Summer is the month which boasts clear skies, the hottest temperatures and cool sea breezes. It runs from May through to October and it is the best time of the year in Cyprus to take part in water sports and sunbathing. If you want to go sightseeing then it is better to do it either early in the morning or later on in the afternoon as that way you will avoid the really hot times of the day. If heat is not a strong point of yours then you should venture to Troodos where the mountains will provide you with a much cooler setting.

The Autumn is only just slightly cooler and you will get to experience the change in colour in the vineyards and the trees around the island. There is an annual festival held in the Autumn too which is definitely worth visiting as you will get to sample international music as well as dramatic performances. Cyprus weather in October and even right to the end of November it could still feel like summer and it is still possible to go swimming if you want to.

When winter comes it brings with it a chance of rain. However the sun usually still shines most of the time for six hours a day. Usually many Mediterranean destinations tend to close their doors to tourists but with Cyprus it doesn’t. The many Cyprus museums and heritage sites are important for the island and so they stay open for tourists to enjoy. It is all about culture in the winter and Agia Napa offers its visitors cultural tours of Cyprus. If you enjoy skiing then you can always visit Troodos where the snowy mountains provide you with a good backdrop for a fantastic skiing experience. The winter runs through until early February.

Finally spring is the time to truly take in the wonders that Cyprus has to offer. The countryside is at its best and the wildflowers make the ancient ruins on the island look amazing. It is possibly one of the best times to visit Cyprus and its temperatures are slightly cooler than summer, making it pleasant to walk around.

Overall the climate in Cyprus great, and it’s also a great island to be on no matter what time of the year it is. If you are planning on living there then you are bound to love the way of life that you will be welcomed with.
