We live in a physical, dualistic, relative universe. The concept of relativity is what allows us to experience the physical and the non-physical, the spirit and the ego, the seen and the unseen. To use this powerful tool of relativity and to experience what we know ourselves to be, spirit children of God with all of God's abilities, we must first come to know the opposite.

When God created the physical world and the physical concept of relativity, he had to bring into existence the opposite of those aspects that define God. Love is at God's core. This is what God is. In order to experience love, God had to bring into the relative world the concept of the opposite of love.

God knew that only by the existence of fear could she experience what she really is, which is love. You cannot just tell yourself you are pure love and experience that. That method is a concept. God knows conceptually that she is pure love. Her longing is to know it experientially.

The only way to experience love is to know fear in relation to love and choose love as your experience. As God's spirit children, we get to choose these experiences in every moment of our lives.

This is the reasoning behind the duality that exists in our relative world. All concepts have an opposite so that we can compare them to fit and define the situations of our lives. Concepts such as tall and short, thin and fat, hot and cold, fast and slow, love and fear, miserly and generous, light and dark, and of course, the ultimate duality of them all, male and female.

It is through this duality that we define our world and how we picture ourselves in relationship to the rest of our human companions and in relationship to the rest of the world and the universe in general. We see where we align ourselves on the sliding scale of duality between all concepts.

This is the way that we present ourselves to the world. Sometimes we like to think that we allow other people or circumstances to define who we are, but in reality, it is you who gets to decide who you are and what you choose to be while experiencing the process (or journey) of life.

So God, the universal source, created this world of the relative in order to know experientially all that she knows conceptually. God created us as her spirit children in the image and likeness of her in order to do this.

This does not mean that we all look like God (although in one sense we all do, since God is all things), but what it really means is that we have the same powers and abilities as God, the same essence. Pretty cool, huh? It is both humbling and exalting.

God, the creator, gave us the same ability to create that she possesses. We have within us this ability. We are here in the relative world to experience what we know conceptually. We are here to experience our ability to create.

However, we now also know that you cannot experience yourself as what you are until you have encountered what you are not. We live in a world of dualities. We define ourselves as what we are by also defining ourselves as what we are not.

To carry this logic forward and see how this line of reasoning has defined the human form we need to understand that in order to know ourselves as ultimate creators, we have to experience the act of creation in the physical world. We need to create. We not only need to create we must create because that is the essence of how we experience life, by creating it as we go along.

However, as we have seen before, in the relative world, we define ourselves not only by the concept of what we are, but also as compared and in relationship to what we are not. In this case, in order to create yourself, you need to first uncreate yourself. By defining yourself as what you are not, you can define what you are. Put another way, you have to not be in order for you to be.

Follow me closely here, because this is where we gain or lose our perspective on what this human experience is all about. This is where it gets “curiouser and curiouser.”

The only way to understand and know that you are a spirit child of God with all of the same properties and abilities as God is to come into this physical world with no understanding and knowledge that you are a spirit child of God with all the same properties and abilities as God.

Only by the act of total amnesia of who you “really are” can you have the ability to create your life in any manner that you choose. If you knew all along that you are a spirit child of God with all of the same creative powers then you couldn't experience all of the different perspectives that come along with the ignorance of that knowledge.

See what I meant about “curiouser and curiouser?”

When you grasp and understand the importance of this concept of relativity, you will be better able to grasp and understand why you may have been sleepwalking most of your life. You will understand why you have lost the balance between the mind, body and spirit being that you are, and why you have gone through your life in this world mostly as a mind and a body.

This is where the big Ah-ha comes in. This is where you start to get it, and begin to understand that you are not a human being having a spiritual experience, but that you are a spiritual being having a human experience.
