If you wish to start an online business and build up a subscriber list, then YES you definitely need an autoresponder. What do they do? Which is the best one to go for? These are questions I will try to answer to give you a better understanding of using and choosing an autoresponder.

When starting an online business most of you will aim to build a subscriber list over a period of time. This will become one of your most valuable assets of your business and eventually the part of the business that can and should bring you the most profits.

To manage your list of subscribers you need to get a good autoresponder from day one. It’s no good thinking about this at a later stage, it needs sorting from the outset. So how do I go about getting one I hear you say? Well firstly you need to have a little bit of background knowledge so you understand the basic operations and the benefits of using an autoresponder.

An autoresponder can perform a multitude of different tasks for you. It is an amazing tool that no serious marketer can be without. If you want a subscriber list, then you must get an autoresponder because they go hand in hand with one another. Here are some of the main tasks they perform:

1. Creating opt-in forms to use on your websites.

2. Collecting new subscriber details and following up with pre-set emails for them.

3. Sending out a set amount of emails automatically at the rate of one a day or whatever pre-determined times you choose.

4. Sending out mass emails or newsletters and personalising each one with your subscribers’ name.

5. Allowing you to create and manage multiple lists for different projects.

6. Looking after your lists of subscribers on their database.

With the rise in SPAM, email providers are starting to use more sophisticated SPAM filters and blockers, this is why it is imperative that you choose a top performing autoresponder offering a high level of service because you need your emails to get through to your customers. The best autoresponder companies have good relationships with the major email providers and are in constant touch with them, which means your emails have a much greater chance of being delivered.

There are probably about four or five top performing autoresponder companies with a couple standing out above the others. The better ones have a high level of service with some outstanding features over and above the expected package you would normally be expecting. They are an excellent tool to have and one that will play a big part in your daily running of your online business.

It’s vitally important you choose wisely from the beginning when choosing an autoresponder. If you don’t get it right from the outset it can be a nightmare transferring all your subscribers over to another company and the chances are you could lose quite a few subscribers in the process.

I did my initial research extremely well when choosing one for my own business needs and was more than pleased with my choice of autoresponder. It is regarded as one of the best on the market, is very reliable, does everything I could possibly want and will definitely play a major part in my business for the foreseeable future.

You have to make sure an autoresponder fits in with your needs of today and any future requirements as your business grows.
