Richard Blackstone

God, the universal source, created the relative world in order to know experientially all that she knows conceptually. God knows conceptually, as we all do as spirit children, that love is at our core. Love is what we are and love is all there is.

God, love, and life are all interchangeable. God's desire, and our mission, is to experience the highest feeling of love we can imagine. This feeling of love, which is defined as the total of all emotions, can only happen by experiencing the total of all emotions in the relative world.

The relative world requires that for something to be, it must exist relative to something it is not. In the creation of the relative world, God knew that for love to exist and be experienced as pure love then its exact opposite also had to exist. So, just like all things in the relative world, God voluntarily created the opposite of love, which is fear.

Life is a process of making choices to decide who and what you are, and who you are going to be. It is the choices we make that defines who we are. The polarity of love and fear is critical in defining who we are, because every single choice that we make comes from either a thought based in love or a thought based in fear.

Wow! Did you hear that?

Love or fear is the basis of every possible thought. If you make choices based in love, you choose the energy that allows you to open up, to heal, to soothe and to share. If you make choices based in fear, you choose the energy that closes down, which harms, which rankles and hoards.

All thoughts, words and deeds are based in one emotion or the other. There is nothing else from which to choose and it is important to make good choices. The great thing about it is that you have free choice about what thoughts, words and deeds you choose.

Thoughts of love take you in one direction, and thoughts of fear take you in another. If we have free choice, which we do, then why don't we always pick thoughts based in love? Why would we subject ourselves to the pain and suffering that fear-based thinking leads us to?

God gave us free will to make our own choices and decisions, but in our developmental years, before we were able to make our own choices, we were guided by the people whose word we believed on everything; our mothers and fathers.

Your mother and father were the first mentors in your life, and you developed a sense of what life was all about from what they taught you. Your parents loved you very much and would not steer you wrong in the ways of the world. However, like you, your mother and father came into this world as spirit children.

They voluntarily agreed to forget all that they know conceptually, in order to create and determine who they were and who they decided to be. They were guided by the life process by teachings handed down to them. What was handed down to them, and what they passed to you, is that you must live your life in fear.

Most of our parents were taught the ego based concepts of survival of the fittest, and to the victor goes the spoils. They grew up in a world that told them they were separate from one another, separate from the planet they inhabit and separate from the God who rules over them.

If humans had developed a thought system based on spiritual truth, rather than one based on human experience, then we would have an entirely different reality about the concepts of love and fear. As it is now, because of this paradigm that we live in, a world created and dominated by a fearful, vengeful and untrustworthy God, our whole reality about love is fear-based.

It sounds funny, doesn't it? That our love is fear-based. Love should be love-based, but the paradigm of separation does not allow this definition to hold up. The separation mentality, which is fear-based, is dominated by the idea of being separate from God. So our whole concept of love is tainted by what we envision to be a God that we fear, and a God who is vengeful enough to actually send us to hell. All of this stems from the idea we have about God that yes, he loves us, but his love is conditional.

This is the natural consequence of living within the fear based paradigm of separation. The thing to always remember is that whatever you believe in is a choice. You are always at free choice to choose again and experience love as your dominant paradigm of life.

Ask yourself, “Which belief system serves me, love or fear?” You may want to make another choice in your life.
