If you, like so many other men, find yourself to be too shy to approach women, you are not alone! Many men claim this affliction and they say that nervousness and shyness are the number one reason why men don't approach women. Let's see what we can do about that.

First of all, let’s find out what is making you nervous or shy. There is the obvious reason of rejection. There is one bigger component to this equation than most men actually realize. It is what truly makes them nervous or shy.

The biggest thing that is making your nervous or shy around women is taking yourself too seriously and thinking too much about what she thinks of you, or will think of you for that matter. You have to relax. Don't try to force it. Just be yourself. Think about approaching your best friend that you haven't seen in awhile. A great method to use is to think of the woman like a friend whom you've already met but forgot the name of. This strategy works wonders!

Shyness cannot be fixed or hidden. You simply have to ignore and disregard all of the negative thoughts and feelings going on inside of you. Once you begin to do this, you will see your shyness start to diminish.

Approaching women quickly, more often, and without thinking about what you are going to say first will strengthen your resolve over time and deplete and diminish those types of thoughts going on inside of your head. Be spontaneous. Try to go for open-ended questions that spark conversation, not interrogation. Stay away from one-word answer type questions. These do not lead to conversation. They lead to rejection.

Don't approach women with the thought, "I have to make a good impression no matter..." This is setting you up for disaster and rejection. You have absolutely no idea what the woman will think of you or say to you. The woman could simply be taken and you don't know it. Where does that leave you now? You have to understand that rejection is a part of this game. Instead, you need to think more along the lines of, "I wonder how she will react or what she will say when I tell her this or that..."

Don't worry if she doesn't respond the way you want her to. A lot of women won't. You have to take that in stride. Persistence is the key. If she gives you short answer, but not a rejection, keep going! Build that two minute relationship with her. Try to gain some rapport with her. Try to lead the conversation with open-ended questions. Take these questions and really try to get a good conversation going that she is genuinely interested in.

Realize that women will never say the things you want. Now, you can begin to wonder what she will say, not how good of an impression you make. Remember, be confident. Don't rehearse your lines before you say them. Be natural. Think like you already know them and want to start a conversation 'again'. Don't think of how she will think of you.
