Moisturizing Damaged Hair With Homemade Products

We always talk about how terribly our organs are taken care of, but did you ever stop to think that in all honesty, its probably hair that gets the very worse deal? It gets the moisture sucked out of it every day from a blow dryer, scorched by the curling iron, tangles yanked though it… It’s no surprise that every woman nowadays is looking for a way to fix the damage inflicted upon her poor hair! Fortunately for every woman desperate to have more healthy and beautiful hair, there are some great and inexpensive things you can find in your kitchen that will drastically improve the health and vitality of your hair. After all, there is nothing more beautiful than a head full of lush and lustrous hair.

1. Olive Oil. Our scalp creates its own natural oils to help moisturize our hair, but unfortunately today, we often use up so much of that precious moisture in styling hair that the scalp never is able to create enough oil to make up for it. Olive oil has a lot of the things in it that our hair often lacks, and is great for restoring your dry hair back to its lush state! All you have to do is heat your olive oil up enough to be warm, and coat your hair in it. To cut down on mess, wrap your hair up in a plastic bag, and then wrap that up in a warm towel. Leave it in for about 15 minutes, and let your hair soak up the moisture!

2. Mayonnaise. The idea of putting this sandwich condiment into your hair may sound seriously strange, but mayonnaise actually has a long history as an effective hair treatment. I’m not sure who first thought of putting it in their hair, but mayonnaise contains several key ingredients for healthy hair. Since it’s made of mostly eggs and oils, it is rich in vitamins, minerals, proteins and fatty acids that will enrich and moisturize your hair. Keep in mind that only pure, real mayonnaise contains this, so you want to avoid products like Miracle Whip. All you have to do is apply it to your hair, using generous amounts to make sure it all gets covered, and wrap it in a plastic bag. Apply your warm towel, and wait for about 15 minutes as your hair gets all those wonderful nutrients!

3. Last but certainly not least, we have eggs. To understand why eggs are so beneficial, you first need to realize that your hair is mostly comprised of protein. Any lack of protein either in your diet or your hair will cause it to dull, become harder and more brittle, thin and severely effect its appearance. As a natural source of protein, eggs do a fantastic job of charging your hair and replenishing it with protein. An egg mask is made up from a few ingredients, so look around on the web for a mask that’s right for you.

As you can see, our three key weapons for the battle of beautiful hair really are actually quite similar to what our hair needs and is made up of naturally. – Proteins, like the collagen that forms each strand, and oils, like our scalp creates! Try and experiment, have fun with it! Taking even one night a week just to pamper your hair can make all the difference in the world in its health, beauty and shine. Having beautiful hair does not have to be hard; it doesn’t even have to be time consuming. – Taking care of your body inside and out is the key to achieving gorgeous hair.
