The online advertisement is here to stay for a long time with us. Current trends indicate the TV viewers are moving away from the box and entertain themselves in online. Searching for information is better suites the folks than to switch through the channels. Think again! How often you have scrolled through your 50 odds channel to find nothing interesting.

With the dominance of the Internet and growing broadband services the online advertisement is about to move away from PPC to PPP.

What is all this PPC & PPP?

PPC stands for Pay per Click. PPP stands for Pay per Play. So you got it, right?

Since the Google introduced the AdSense there are many PPC advertisers emerged and submerged.

The negative effect of the PPC is that if the ads displayed are not relevant to your content, the chance you get a click is less than 5 percent. Note the point here; your visitor will take note of the ad even though they are not clicking on that ad. Thus the advertisement will benefit the advertiser and not the publisher. Why a visitor is not clicking on the ad? One could be that your content is more interesting than the ad. Another cold be that the ad is not relevant to the content, thus the reader is not interested the visitor. Another is that they are disappointed by the ads in the past as they did not provide the information what the visitor expects.

I have clicked many such ads. It states FREE this and that. But once you are on their site you will realize it wasn’t you was expecting. Yes! I agree why would some one pay to advertise something they want to give away free. My question is why they want to mislead mine or your visitors. Don’t I have a cretin responsibility by displaying those ads to my visitors? Yes, I do. That’s why I am very careful and monitor the ads placed on my site. This is an additional workload to me. But for the moment, I have no choice, but to spend that extra time to monitor those ads.

The new trend of PPP is promising to pay per play. What this mean for the publishers? Every unique visitor will generate revenue for you. That is far better than the pay per click if they pay a decent amount of money. With AdSense I had 2096 impressions and 69 clicks, which translated in $8.61. That is less than ½ a cent per impression. I think anything less 2 cents per impression is not acceptable.

NOW! We are about to move away from PPC to and getting into more technologically advances voice ads and video ads. The growth of the broadband will help the success of this new trend to dominate the internet in terms of online advertisement.

With voice and video ads the terms of payment changes from pay per click to pay per play. As every unique visitor loads the page the ad will play for 5 or 10 seconds. Once the ad is played you are entitled to gat paid. Thus you can monetize all your traffic. Cashing the web is about to get more attractive.

Publishers, get ready to cash the web.
