The perfect honeymoon getaway package could well be the romantic Four Seasons Hotel Sultanahmet Istanbul. It has everything a romantic honeymoon getaway hotel needs apart from ‘situation, situation, situation’, and it has that in abundance. You see if you choose Istanbul for your honeymoon getaway you need also to position yourself in the right place, and Sultanahmet is certainly all of that. Here you are right in the heart of historic old Istanbul so the unmissable spots like the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, the Hippodrome plus the Grand Bazaar are only a short distance away. Topkapi Palace is also close by and the Istiklal Cadesi with its multitude of small bars and tavernas beckons.

A great honeymoon getaway hotel does need more than exquisite neighbours, and the Four Seasons Hotel Sultanahmet has this and more as well.

It was created from a century old prison, and has just 65 guest rooms and suites which surround an open courtyard.
That in itself isn’t enough, but it is in the sheer quality of everything else from your suite to the attention to detail that sets the Four Seasons apart.

Get yourself picked up at the airport by the BMW 7 Series the hotel will send for you. You do want to impress on your honeymoon getaway, and there is nothing quite like being greeted by a man in uniform at an airport arrivals hall, complete with limo!! You can feel the other passengers are desperate to know who you are, and if it is the start of your honeymoon getaway, then it doesn’t half impress your new bride. There is obviously a cost, and it is four or five times more than a taxi, but worth every penny.

It’s also good to have features of Istanbul pointed out on the way to your honeymoon hotel.

Check in is very quick at the Four Seasons, because the paperwork will have mostly been covered in the car, but what you will find is the strong likelihood of an upgrade. A one Bedroom Suite is more than roomy. You will find spectacular bathrooms, DVD Players with a huge list of DVD’s. A CD Player and a huge list of CD’s.

Room including breakfast would be the best arrangement, because this isn’t just continental breakfast, here at the Four Seasons you can order what you want.

As you would expect from a Four Seasons Hotel, it is spotless, the service is quick unobtrusive, and it is fair to say that the staff seem to be very happy with their lot, and this in turn helps create a good atmosphere.

The restaurant food again is good, again very much what you have the right to expect from a Four Seasons, but delightful and atmospheric as the hotel is, you are in Sultanahmet in the middle of Istanbul and this position is probably the best thing of all. Being right in the heart of the old city there is a lot of hustle and bustle outside but thanks to good insulation the hotel is very quiet. Even the early morning call to prayer from the mosques seems to be toned down quite considerably.

The Four Seasons Sultanahmet just fits in so well with the local scene, and you don’t need to travel more than a few minutes to see the best of what old Istanbul has to offer.

As a hotel it is easy to see why the Four Seasons Hotel Istanbul is rated the tops in Europe, and in the top five in the world. It makes for a perfect honeymoon getaway package.
