Think about your most stressful day and how it made you feel. It takes a long time to unwind in the evening after a stressful day, doesn't it? Some people aren't able to effectively unwind and end up tossing and turning in bed, with relentless thoughts keeping them awake, and an overwhelming feeling of anxiety.

If you thought bubble baths were just for kids, think again! For stress-filled days you need bubble-filled baths! Nothing is as relaxing after a rough day than sliding into a nice, hot bath overflowing with lightly scented bath bubbles.

A bubble bath provides a natural form of stress relief, and hydrotherapy has been used for centuries for creating a relaxing environment. Soaking in hot water will ease tension, reduce your overall stress level and leave you feeling comfortable, warm, and calm from the inside out. Tension caused from stress is a major cause of muscle aches and pains and headaches- simply soaking in a hot tub will help eliminate the tension and go a long way in making you feel human again!

Using lightly scented bath bubbles will turn your hydrotherapy experience into an aromatherapy one! You can choose any fragrance that you find pleasant, but keep in mind there have been studies done that actually claim certain scents will help your body relax. Some of the favorite fragrances found in bath bubbles include vanilla, lavendar and cucumber melon. Each of these aromas will create a pleasurable smelling environment- perfect for spending an hour or so soaking in your tub!

What you do with your “soak time” is up to you! Some people prefer to simply sit quietly and reflect on the day, while others prefer to read a book for enjoyment or listen to music. Read or write poetry, do a crossword, create a sketch- there are many things you can do comfortably from within the tub, so use your imagination.

Regardless of how you spend your personal bath time, you want to give yourself plenty of time to fully rejuvenate and let go of the tension and stress you've kept built up all day! A daily or every-other-day bath soaking ritual might help you start each day with a more relaxed outlook on life, so consider making it part of your bedtime routine. You can use different scented bubbles depending on your mood, and to take it all a step further- light aromatherapy candles and dim the lights just before sliding into your relaxing tub of hot water and soothing bubbles. Nothing says relaxing like a bath tub overflowing with scented bubbles.

Chances are, ending a stressful day with a soak in the tub will eliminate insomnia later that night. Giving your mind and body time to unwind and balance your emotional state before getting under the covers will help you get into the right frame of mind for having a good night's sleep- and sleep is essential for starting out on the right foot for having a better day tomorrow.
