A big number of new distributors are wondering whether they should buy leads for their MLM business or not. They hear about marketers that use them regularly with great results to show, others that after trying them got so bad results and many spam complaints that decided never to touch them again and of course those that generate their own high quality leads much cheaper. In the end they get very confused and they don't know what to do.

To begin with, an MLM lead is the identity of a person that is interested in becoming a distributor in an MLM company. Of course many Marketers may be interested in acquiring customers in which case we are talking about a sales lead.

No one can deny that the best leads are those that you generate yourself. You know where they come from and you are certain that these are real people who are really interested in starting a home based business. Besides if you know how to do it, it cost you less than buying. In order to accomplish this you need much more than putting a capturing form on a website. The difficult part is to drive traffic there, especially targeted which is what you really want.

The time you will spend learning how to do this it's time worth spending as it would give you the best results. On the other hand there are a lot of distributors who are in a hurry to give some momentum to their business while others prefer not to bother with technical stuff and would like to outsource it. Thus they prefer buying them. But no matter how great it sounds there are a lot of problems that can arise if you go through that direction.

Honestly, the majority of companies that sell leads offer low quality and overpriced ones. They sell the same to many customers or put fake ones into the list or even worst people that never gave that permission to be contacted for this purpose. The last one can cause you a lot of troubles if you take the whole subject lightly.

There are also companies that at the beginning are selling high quality leads but as they become more popular and more customers want to buy from them, their quality drops. To keep up with demand they end up buying additional ones from other sources to offer to their customers usually of lower quality or worst using other tricks.

Finally there are also vendors that until now they are managing to deliver what they promise flawlessly. Of course you never know if they will keep doing so at the future, so you always need to be careful.

To find the best supplier your first step is to ask your sponsor. There is a great chance that he or someone in his upline might purchasing leads so he can point you to some sources. A prudent thing to do is to always test them. Purchase from a few recommended sellers and see which one is bringing the best results. Keep the best one and then find a new one to compare with him. Keep the best of the two and then repeat. The trick is here to trying to find and compare a new source with the previous one, all the time, and keep the winner so that way you continually improve your results. It's like the split testing you do with your advertising, only here we test the lead sellers instead.

If you are buying email ones the autoresponder that you are going to use is another thing you have to consider. There are autoresponder services that don't allow you to upload purchased ones and those that let you do it are almost useless as their delivery rate is so low due to prior misuse. What you should do is to find a supplier that offers that service so you don't have to worry about such things.

Of course you don't stop there. By purchasing them you hardly have started. Your mission is to turn them into distributors so your skills on how to do so would play a great role.

What you should keep in mind is that the best MLM leads are those that you generate them yourself and the time you spend learning how to do so is time worth spending. If you want to stay out of anything technical and you prefer to concentrate on other aspects of your business, purchasing is the only solution left to you. If you go that way you should remember always to test what you are buying and to be extremely careful.
