Thousands of years ago, clothing was hand-washed by rinsing them through the flowing water of the streams or under the running taps. Soap was rubbed very hard to remove the dirty stains and oil. It was really necessary to rub constantly hard to make the clothes shine. Some would do this by pounding and beating the clothes on rocks near the streams. As water had to be heated on fire for finer results of washing clothes, the warm soapy water was precious as fuel was also not easily available in those days. The soap water was stored and again it was re-used for the next washing.

Efforts put in by the inventors to find out the solution to all these procedures proved to be excellent. They came out with a technology of washing clothes effortlessly. This information is all about a washing machine. Washing machines were technically invented to reduce the physical effort of humans which they went through while washing the clothes. The earliest washing machine was hand operated and was built up with a belief that the machine would work faster and it will become very easy to use than to wash the clothes directly by scrubbing and rubbing. As electricity was also not easily available in those days, these machines were often run by a less speed cylinder, engine. In these machines soap and water was removed from the clothes, after washing was done originally in a separate process. As time passed by, more and more research happened and lots of more facilities were introduced in the washing machines to reduce the efforts and make lives of human easy.

The new washing machines gave results such as, the process of removal water was done by spinning, which was done by the motors fixed in the machines. Loads of washed clothes would be transferred from wash tubs to the spinning tub to dry the clothes. Inventors were still not satisfied with this. They wanted to give their best to the people. Then they invented automatic washing machine. They were again divided into products, semi automatic and fully automatic washing machines. Semi automatic washing machines were again demanding some efforts than the fully automatic washing machines. A fully automatic machine combines the features of two separate devices into a single machine. It also has an ability to fill and drain the water by itself. Fully automatic machines are more efficient in saving water and energy. Semi automatic washing machines are less expensive than the fully automatic washing machines.. Earlier washing machines were costly and it was considered as a luxury item. But now days it is no more considered as luxury, it is become a need for every household. Newly instituted energy efficiency requirements have impacted performance of standard washing.

It was my daughter’s birthday and I was planning to buy a gift for her, so I logged on to the Toronto appliances and placed an order for a Viking washing machine and gave my daughter’s address as the shipping address so that they could directly ship it to her house. I wanted to gift a washing machine because the one which she was using for the past 8 years was giving her a lot of trouble while washing clothes. She was planning to buy a new washing machine for herself. She was very happy to receive this gift.
