Each day people search for ways to improve their lives. Some answers are not so easily found - yet we discover that some have been within our reach all along. In many cases, educating ourselves is all it takes to lead us to discoveries about ourselves that can help to improve our lives. And, no matter how good you think you have it - there is always room for improvement in everything we do. It is possible to improve your life using the meaning of dreams.

Everyone sleeps - therefore everyone dreams. When we dream, we are allowing our conscious mind to rest even though the data stored in our subconscious minds is sorted. Throughout each day, your brain sends lots of data that you don't consciously process to your subconscious for storage - background noises, feelings that you may wish to ignore. To help your mind work effectively, this material must, at some point be processed and analyzed.

That's where dreaming comes in. While you sleep - while your body and conscious mind rest - your brain is busy processing and sorting this information in an attempt to process the data stored in your subconscious. But, how does this help us to improve our lives?

You might believe that dreams are just something that happens - that you have no control over the things that occur in your sleep. But there are two kinds of dreams - natural and intentional. When you learn to understand the meaning of dreams, you you are allowing yourself a means of improving your life.

Natural dreams occur with no effort on our part - just as the tides roll in and roll back out each day. Most people don't consciously think about the tides, yet the tides play an important role in the cycle of the universe. If we learn to remember and interpret our natural dreams, we can benefit from this knowledge. We learn to analyze our deepest feelings and desires.

However, the effect of natural dreams can be taken to another extreme. Intentional dreams can enhance our dream experience and allow us to focus on changes that can improve our lives. An intentional dream is happens when you focus your mind and heart on a particular area of your life and generate dreams that aid you in changing these areas.

Not the same as controlling your dreams, intentional dreams only give you a focus for your dreams, a background so to speak. Just as you would direct a child towards a certain goal, then step back and grant the child the freedom to reach the goal in his or her own way. You are not controlling your dreams, you are focusing your dreams to areas in your life that you have room for improvement.

Once you have focused on this specific area, it is important to remember the events or people of the dream and learn the meaning behind the details. Often, we will get an in depth look at our true feelings and desires. The process of intentional dreaming can aid in solving many specific dilemmas in our lives, as well as giving us insight into psychological, personal, and even spiritual questions the we may be seeking answers to.

If we learn to interpret and analyze these dreams, we learn more about ourselves. However, bear in mind that everything we learn may result in us having to face things that we have avoided. Suppose for a moment that you have been involved in a disagreement with a close friend for years. Taking a deeper look at your role in the dispute may show you that you are partly to blame and can reveal the steps needed in order to improve the relationship.

Improving your life using the meaning of dreams requires effort on your part - as do most things. First you must learn to focus your mind and heart, then you should remember the details of your dreams, and finally learn to analyze your dreams. Sometimes it may require that you deal with issues that may have been long-buried in your subconscious mind and finally facing a few demons from your past.

Dreams can help you to improve your life in many areas. Dreams can help with personal growth, career development, parenting, can help you to build skills that can help improve every aspect of your life, and can even help you to be a more creative person. As with many things, it involves learning a set of skills (remembering and interpreting) and exerting these skills to enhance your life - dreaming your way to a better life!
