Chihuahua puppies come in two varieties, the long haired coat and the smooth coat. This is a very easy breed to groom. The grooming schedule for Chihuahua uppies is a very short and easy process. Bathing is only needed once a month and brushing is recommended once or twice a week. AKC papers should always be provided with new Chihuahua puppies. Your new puppy should also be have its shots, be wormed and have a generous health guarantee.

Chihuahua puppies come in two varieties; the long coat variety and the smooth coat variety. The smooth coat has short hair with a very smooth coat. The long coat variety has a longer thicker coat, sometimes curly around the head and ears. Bathing once a month is sufficient for this breed and brushing once a week is enough grooming for a Chihuahua puppy. Chihuahua puppies are the smallest of the breeds but live just as long as any size of dog breeds and are for the most part very sweet and even tempered dogs.

This toy breed is actually quite muscular with a fine bone structure, but can be prone to ear infections. Chihuahua puppies are not good with children do to their small stature. They also do not do well in homes with other animals. However, they are very loyal to their masters. Be sure your new Chihuahua puppy has AKC papers, is wormed, has been given it's first shots and a very good health guarantee. All reputable Chihuahua breeders will provide these services with the purchase of your new puppy.

Because of the stature and size of Chihuahua puppies they are very easy to groom. The smooth, shorthaired variety takes no time at all. Bathing once a month in the kitchen sink will clean one of these puppies sufficiently. Brushing this variety of Chihuahua puppy once a week is all it takes to make him shine. Being short haired and smooth does not give him much hair so you should be very careful as to what brush to use on him. Soft bristles are a must for shorthaired, smooth Chihuahua Puppies.

The longhaired coat variety of Chihuahua puppies also needs to be bathed once a month. However, they should really be brushed about twice a week in order to keep the puppy looking graceful and beautiful and free of tangles in his long hair. Matting and tangling can lead to health problems so brushing a longhaired Chihuahua is very important. These Chihuahua puppies are cute with bows in their hair.

Purebred Chihuahua puppies should come with AKC papers, be wormed, have their first shots and a good health guarantee. Not all owners like to give out crates, so you should purchase a good one before you bring your new puppy home. The crate will help make the transition to your home much smoother. Chihuahua puppies that are sold by these breeders are very expensive because they are pedigreed puppies and come from a long line of champions.

The breeders should be very open about the history of the puppies and their breeding business. Research will lessen your stress when searching for a reputable Chihuahua puppy breeder. The AKC governs the breeders and, therefore, they must abide by specific rules and regulations when selling these puppies. A good breeder will also provide you with all of the information needed to care and maintain the good health of your new Chihuahua puppy.
