In a modern warehouse, the standard pallet has become the storage solution of choice. By keeping goods on their pallet from the time they are delivered until the time they are needed in the factory or by other staff, it is possible to streamline the internal distribution system that the company uses, and through this, to achieve cost savings in a number of areas including the costs associated with losing items because of poor stock management systems. In order to keep the warehouse in order and to facilitate the safe and secure storage of palletized loads, specialist pallet rack shelving is required, and this must be installed by a professional company in order to ensure that it is fitted properly.

Improperly fitted used pallet racks can have huge costs to your business. Catastrophic collapses of badly installed systems can be hugely expensive, and also cause untold harm to any staff who are within the racks when the accident takes place. By buying your pallet rack shelving from a reliable company, you get the benefit of dealing with trained professionals throughout the whole purchase and installation process so that you can be completely confident that the system that you have chosen for your business is not only the right one, it is also the safest possible solution, and one that is built to last.

The team of professional engineers will deliver the pallet rack shelving to your premises and begin the construction process by properly preparing the ground where the new racks are going to stand. Proper installation of pallet rack shelving is always a custom job that must be carried out to the specifications set out by the building, and also the local environment in which the shelving is likely to be used. At the time of ordering the pallet rack shelves, it is important to consider the amount of storage space that is required within the warehouse including how high the shelves can be stacked. This factor will govern the exact kind of racks that are required, and have a major impact on the cost and installation process that your business faces.

The team of professional engineers will deliver the pallet rack shelving to your premises and begin the construction process by properly preparing the ground where the new racks are going to stand. They will investigate ways of leveling the foundations for the shelves, and ensure that the initial components – the pillars that hold up the rest of the structure are properly and securely mounted, as this will govern the actual strength of the finished units. Depending on the actual needs of the installation, legs will either be bolted into the ground or alternatively mounted on large feet for support.

Once the pillars are securely in place, horizontal girders will be added to the structure. These will provide the support for pallets once the shelves are complete, as well as holding the overall structure together tightly. Diagonal support beams will be added to the back of the unit for additional strength, and then either meshes to prevent goods from falling through the unit, or alternatively, proper shelving will be added to the structure. Once the whole of the pallet rack shelving has been completely assembled and tested thoroughly, it is ready for immediate use.
