Age is never a barrier when it matters to smoking. The black hands of smoke has left marks on the entire world to such an extent that human life is paying high costs for it.

Cigarette smoking has turned out to be a matter of prestige for people nowadays. They often forget the danger hidden behind every puff that is inhaled. It is never an ignorance that always makes people go after this bad habit. Even cigarette packets warn you against the harmful effects. It is always a curiosity that paves way for an addiction.

The results brought in by smoking have active and passive sides. When your smoke reaches a passer by, they are compelled to take it in along with the oxygen. Once inside, it can cause all those disturbances that an active smoker feels.

Smokers saying that it gives them a feeling of mental relief justify smoking addiction. Having a smoke after food makes them feel it will speed up digestion. It is a scenario seen quite often that a tensed person will be surrounded by numerous cigarette butts. Artists and writers use this to evoke the creator in them. All have reasons and excuses to cite which are priceless.

When these addicts are advised to stop smoking, they declare that it is hard to go without. It has become an unavoidable part of their daily routine and is as important as food, water and air for them. They will show behavioural irregularities: their hands will shiver, the tongue will dry and they even show violence when they are forced to keep away from smoking even for a while. They will even start behaving as someone else and fail to respect the surrounding.

The habit of smoking starts due to many reasons. In other words it never requires a concrete reason at all. It is often seen as a behavior spread among people put together in different circumstances. They exchange puffs and thus generate a bad habit in their fellow beings. Starting with a puff, it grows to numerous packets a day as the individual matures. Thus he is addicted to another enemy of mankind.

The pathetic aftermath of smoking begins with physical discomforts. Nicotine deposits chemicals inside lungs thereby causing breathing problems. The taste buds are destroyed thus affecting his sense of tasting and his interest in food slowly decreases. Even his brain cells are affected and his ability to balance is affected. No part in his body: eyes, fingers can escape from the cruelties of smoking.

Another major effect is in his public life. He is treated as a chain smoker by the society. As far as non-smokers are concerned, smoking is a social crime. They keep away from smokers thinking of the dangerous results of passive smoking.
