Your custom business cards may be small but they definitely pack a big and mighty punch when it comes to promoting your business to your target customers.

They may be small and the least expensive in your marketing arsenal but they sure are one of the most effective advertising tools. What marketing tool can you bring with you 24/7, in the air or by land, and it can fit in your purse, small bag and even your wallet? Only your custom business cards can do that. Those 2 inches by 3 ½ inches cards that holds information about you and your business.

These small pieces of paper also have the capability to make or break your business. It creates that first impression on your target clients that gets you leads to increase your sales. That’s why you need to carefully plan your design and message in your color business cards.

Your design is as much a reflection of your image as your message was. It gives off that image you would want your target customers to remember you with. Hence, you might as well design them with as much detail as you give to your personal image because first impressions do last, and you wouldn’t want to have a negative effect on your clients and prospects.

Here are a few business card printing design tips to help you in your next project:

1. Include all the necessary information. Your cards will be useless if your target customers would have a hard time finding your telephone number for example in your custom business cards. Let’s reiterate. You need your name, title, company name, logo, your phone, fax, mobile, and even your pager number if you still have one. Don’t forget your email address, your website URL if you have any, and your address.

2. And don’t forget to put that extra information that would make it even easier for your clients and prospects to know what you do exactly. Most cards forget this part of the detail. If your recipients don’t know what you do exactly, how do you suppose they’ll be able to remember you that quickly?

3. Making your cards attractive and appealing. It makes for a more lively conversation if you have a card that attracts the attention and interest of your recipients. Deciding to hire a business card printing designer to produce your cards for you can be an excellent decision for your project.

4. Use that blank real estate at the back of your card. Nowadays, utilizing all your space, including your back side can help you provide your recipients with more information as possible. But remember that what you put at the back should not be as vital as your address or website URL for example. Anything significant should always be up front.

They may be small and can only cost you a dime per piece, but your business cards can help you get the clients you need to grow your business in what you’ve always imagined.
