Gas stations around the world are now offering credit cards that you can use at their station for rewards. These credit cards can of course be used in any place, but the rewards are regulated to car expenses such as gas, services, auto parts, and convenience store items. Texaco is one of the many places that has a gas card. In fact Texaco has three different options regarding their credit card offerings. They have a basic card, premium, and business card. These three cards are useful to you in a Texaco or Chevron gas station for the rewards you can obtain. When discussing these cards you will find that there are specific reasons to choose one card over the other. Let’s look at the basic card first.

The basic Texaco credit card offers simple rewards at the pump and in the convenience store. You will be able to get cash back every time you use the card. The amount of cash back will be determined by the amount you have placed on the card. Generally you will earn 5% cash back of what you have spent. There is no annual fee for the card and usually you will have a 15% interest rate on the card. It is the easiest of the three cards to obtain.

Texaco business card: this card is useful to only a few individuals. Basically it is just a business card that will offer rewards. Usually because you are establishing a business account you have a few more rewards with the card. For example you can get discounts on tires, maintenance and convenience store purchases. The interest rate can be a little lower than the basic card, especially if you are going to ask for a few cards with the account or if it is a really big account for your truckers.

The premium card is perhaps the most beneficial if you travel a lot for personal or business reasons. This card will offer you savings on airlines, convenience store items, services, gas, and more that has to do with travelling like hotel bills. The purpose of this card is to offer more, but it does have an annual fee. The annual fee may be worth it if you find the rewards something that you will be able to earn in a year or more frequently. The rewards are not always going to be offered. Some of the discounts such as the hotels can be offered with just having the card.

Keep in mind that with the Texaco credit card you will be using it for rewards at the gas station. Just using it for general purchases is not going to get you the savings you need. Since the cost of oil has increased in the last few years, it seems that this may be one of the best cards to have right now to save on your rising fuel costs. There are also Texaco stations in Canada where you can use this card, which helps it to be a little more versatile.
